Job Description: School Psychologist Location: Ascent Classical
Academy of Northern Denver (ACAND) Brighton, CO FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports To: Dean of Student Services Work Days: Faculty Calendar, 2
Days, typical school day including professional development
days/work days. Note: Position may be hired as a Full-Time split
between each location. ACAND= .4 for 2 days and if ACADC= .4 for 2
days Essential Functions Ensure the academic integrity of the
school by overseeing the appropriateness of services and
accommodations for students in specialized programming Conduct
psychological assessments and evaluations to identify students'
academic, emotional, and behavioral needs Interpret assessment
results and develop intervention strategies to support students'
educational and personal development Collaborate with teachers,
parents, and administrators to develop and implement Individualized
Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs Provide
consultation to teachers, parents, and school staff on strategies
to support student learning and behavior Work as part of a
multidisciplinary team to create a positive school environment and
promote students' mental health and well-being Serve as a resource
for school staff on topics related to child development, mental
health, and effective teaching strategies Provide short-term
counseling and crisis intervention for students facing emotional,
social, or behavioral challenges Develop and implement individual
or group interventions to address students' academic and behavioral
difficulties Support students through transitions, including
changes in grade level or family dynamics Development and
implementation of school-wide programs to promote positive behavior
and a safe and supportive school climate Participate in
professional development and continuing education to stay current
with best practices in school psychology Maintain accurate records
of assessments, interventions, and consultations in compliance with
federal, state, and school policies Assist in the preparation of
reports required by the school or district administration Complete
all required training and provide documentation as well as official
college transcripts within 90 days of hire date Demonstrate
consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work
hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for
absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students,
colleagues, and school operations Demonstrate proficiency in both
written and spoken English to effectively perform their job
responsibilities and communicate in the workplace Perform other
duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities: Education: Master's
or Doctoral degree in Education/Psychology from an accredited
program Valid state certification as a School Psychologist (NCSP
desired) Previous experience in a school setting preferred, with an
understanding of classical education values and practices being a
plus Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational
skills Knowledge of state and federal laws related to special
education and mental health services Commitment to the policies,
mission, and vision of Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools
Inc. Commitment to high moral character necessary to sustain
ordered liberty and constitutional self-government Knowledge of
classical education (or the willingness and desire to learn)
Willingness to take responsibility for being on time and
maintaining excellent attendance Willingness to complete other
duties as assigned Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 15 lbs
Able to traverse the classroom and adjust one's tone and height by
bending or leaning in order to work with students Prolonged periods
of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, or standing Able to
supervise outdoor duties Mandatory Background Checks: In alignment

felony convictions, depending on their nature and recency. History
of certain misdemeanors that may raise concerns about a candidate's
