The organization is the nation's largest cable provider to small and mid-size businesses and has emerged as a force in the Enterprise market, recognized by leading industry associations as one of the fastest growing provider of Ethernet services.SummaryThis individual will play a key role within Comcast Business by providing best in class customer solutions and technical sales support as part of the Managed Enterprise Solutions Sales organization. The individual helps close customer opportunities by providing engineering support within the larger sales engineering organization. Will assist in developing solutions with Comcast's full suite of WAN and Managed Network Services partnering with other Sales and Solutions Engineering team members across the country.This particular role requires detail oriented telecommunications engineering skill sets and an understanding of access and networking technologies with emphasis on GIS mapping, physical and logical WAN topologies, site serviceability and other engineering/design/sales quoting tools. Partners with larger sales engineering organization and sales support representatives on presentations, day to day quoting, data center/colocation information and other technical design information for new sales opportunities. The individual will act as a technical resource on sales quote development, customer opportunity site analysis and provide internal sales engineering tool expertise allowing the account team to focus on the specific higher level Customer technical and business requirements. They will help update solution diagrams, as-built customer information and technical presentations to other Sales Engineering team members and assist with escalations that require immediate attention.Core Responsibilities- Provides timely, technical support and problem resolution for field service questions.- Supports Sales team with product modifications and engineering expertise for custom projects.- Compiles technical data, aids in reporting and produces information for presentation to leadership.- Serves as technical resource on GIS mapping tools, network topologies and other internal process.- Assists on designing solutions for the customer that meets their business applications, as well as assures protected circuit design, disaster recovery situations, and appropriate bandwidth for future growth.- Translates complex technical design requirements into information that internal sales, support and customers can understand and respond to.- Generate as-built diagrams internally and externally as required, provide post sale support to implementation and operations teams ongoing.- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.- Minimal travel required. - Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Education Level- Bachelor's Degree or EquivalentYears of Experience- Generally requires 7+ years related experience Additional Requirements:- Background in design and deployment of complex optical, data, video and voice networks highly preferred.- Experience with the following:- MAN/WAN technologies including Carrier Ethernet, SD-WAN, IP-VPN/MPLS, Wavelength and SONET- Internet, Peering, TCP/IP, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)- Layer 1 Access Networks (Optical/WDM, Hybrid Fiber Coaxial, Twisted Pair Copper)- Layer 2/3 networking and protocols (Switching/Bridging, VLAN's, L2CP, Routing and Security)- Advanced Voice networking technologies including VoIP, SIP, Packet Cable and TDM- Software Defined Networking (SDN), Network Function Virtualization (NFV), Orchestration and Cloud based networking - Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery concepts- GIS fiber routing and mapping experience - Excellent verbal and written communicator with ability to explain technical concepts in simple and understandable terms to a layperson- Self-motivated, project oriented individual- Able to accomplish tasks and projects without the need for constant supervision- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, Salesforce and other desktop and engineering applications and tools- Team player, able to handle ambiguity, anticipate and react to changes quickly in a fast paced sales environmentEmployees at all levels are expect to:- Understand our Operating Principles; make them the guidelines for howyou do your job- Own the customer experience-think and act in ways that put ourcustomers first, give them seamless digital options at every touchpoint,and make them promoters of our products and services- Know your stuff-be enthusiastic learners, users and advocates of ourgame-changing technology, products and services, especially our digitaltools and experiences- Win as a team-make big things happen by working together and beingopen to new ideas- Be an active part of the Net Promoter System-a way of working thatbrings more employee and customer feedback into the company-by joininghuddles, making call backs and helping us elevate opportunities to dobetter for our customers- Drive results and growth- Respect and promote inclusion and diversity- Do what's right for each other, our customers, investors and ourcommunitiesComcast is an EOE/Veterans/Disabled/LGBT employer
