**Position** : Systems Security Analyst **Location** : LAKEWOOD, CO Job Title: Systems Security Analyst Location: _Denver, CO --_ _Denver Federal Center, 6th Avenue & Kipling, Lakewood, CO 80225_ _[NOTE: Other locations may be considered for the position]_ Job Description ASRC Federal Vistronix (Vistronix) is actively seeking a Systems Security Analyst to join our Denver-based team supporting the security requirements for a 10,000+ seat government agency with over 1,000 servers and 200 sites. Most of the work will be performed at the Denver government site, but some telework may be available. The position could also be performed in locations other than Denver. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of Federal security regulations and controls and serve as a point of contact to bureau staff for information security issues. This position will function in the role of an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) and will be responsible for analyzing information security systems and applications as well as recommending security measures to protect information against unauthorized modification or loss. Specialized experience in defining computer security requirements for high-level applications and systems, evaluation of approved security product capabilities, and developing solutions to multi-level security (MLS) problems will be a key differentiator for this position. The ability to review and document security controls in accordance with NIST 800-53 rev. 4 is critical for position success as is the ability to perform risk analyses and risk assessments on new and existing software applications and systems. Key Tasks: + Prepare and update reports to ensure that the unit complies with mandated internal and external security reporting requirements, including FISMA and CPIC; + Coordinate security program and system elements with the agency IT Program Managers by evaluating system environments for security requirements and controls including IT Security Architecture, hardware, software, security trends, telecommunications, and associated threats and vulnerabilities; + Manage security controls to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information; + Define, create and maintain the security documentation for certification and accreditation (C&A) of each information system in accordance with government requirements; + Build security into the system development process and define security specifications to Support the acquisition of new systems; + Review and sign off on system procurement requests to ensure that security has been considered and included; + Adhere to and implement system security controls that ensure the protection of Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) information using authentication techniques, encryption, firewalls, and access controls; + Complete annual self-assessments; + Update to the System Security Plans (SSP) for the program; + Serve as a key advisor in risk assessments of all systems and mitigate vulnerabilities; + Adhere to Continuous Monitoring practices to ensure that security controls are maintained over the life of IT systems + Update the electronic agency inventory for all agency computing devices; + Assist application System Owners in the development, testing, and maintenance of contingency plans, backup and storage procedures; + Document all procedures according to departmental standards; + Audit and monitor application, system and security logs for security threats, vulnerabilities and suspicious activities; report suspicious activities to the government Information System Security Manager (ISSM); + Monitor and coordinate patch management and scanning techniques for all production systems; participate in identification and mitigation of all system vulnerabilities, + Support and facilitate the security awareness, training, and education program + Assist the ISSM in any other security-related duties, as required. Support Tasks: + Incident Response support as needed (includes VIP/Political forensics/support) + Coordinate Incident Response with the agency System Owners including associated actions necessary to mitigate the risk to unit systems. + Prepare and coordinate Incident Responses with the agency ISSM to include all associated actions necessary to mitigate the risk to unit systems. + Computer investigations and forensics + On a quarterly basis, update POA&M information in the government's Cyber Security Assessment and Management (CSAM) tool + Assist in and prepare Weakness Completion Verification Forms + Plan of Action and Milestone (POA&M) Review/Processing: + Security Architecture and engineering support + Support the Policy Section with updates and reviews. Education and Experience: + A four-year technical degree such as Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or Engineering is required; + At least six years of general IT experience, with two-plus years of experience in Information Systems Security/Information Assurance, Security Engineering, or IT Systems Administration. Required Skills and Competencies: + A thorough understanding of the security families and controls defined in NIST 800-53, rev. 4, FIPS 199, and related security guidance. + Experience in performing security impact assessments, privacy assessments, and risk assessments (government experience preferred). + Proven ability to document security controls that adhere to NIST 800-53, rev 4 standards. + Experience providing risk assessments for computer systems. + Experience creating and updating System Security Plans (SSP). + Ability to read and understand security architecture diagrams and reports. + Ability to manage multiple security assessments simultaneously. Desired Skills: + Experience analyzing Splunk reports for security vulnerabilities. + Experience with managing security controls in a commercial cloud or hybrid cloud environments. + Understanding of network infrastructure (such as switches, routers, firewalls, servers, etc.) + Experience working in an ITIL environment; (ITIL v3 certification highly desired) + Computer Security certificates, such as CISSP, CISSA, CISM, CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), highly desired The successful candidate is subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a position of public trust or higher. _ASRC Federal and its Subsidiaries are Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employers.
