SP-Advanced Programs Development (APD) is seeking an engineer with orbital analysis experience to join the Mission Analysis team. As a Systems Engineer / Orbital Analyst you will perform modeling/simulations for earth-orbiting constellations and the position presents an analyst with opportunities to work a variety of mission spaces and payloads. The SP-APD Mission Analysis team consists of a diverse group of analysts with a wide range of engineering related expertise. Together, the team models constellation, spacecraft and payload capabilities in order to perform trade studies and craft architectures. The group-s orbit analysts are a key component of, and contributors to, the Mission Analysis team dynamic. The responsibilities of this position include: - Designing altitude-diverse satellite constellations in support of mission objectives - Performing spacecraft orbit revisit and access related analysis in support of architecture trade studies - Creating unique, or modifying existing, orbit-propagation-based software tools to execute program specific analysis - Modeling spacecraft behavior and space environment conditions - Performing spacecraft orbit-to-target geometry related analysis - Developing analysis artifacts for design reviews, working-groups and customer briefings The SP-APD Mission Analysis team supports multiple IRAD, CRAD and production programs that present unique opportunities to exercise and develop both technical depth and breadth. We are looking for a self-starter who can prioritize and manage multiple tasks to completion. Typically has 5 - 10 years of professional experience. Basic Qualifications: - Experience performing orbit related analysis - Bachelor's or Master's degree in in Aerospace Engineering or related technical field - Prior modeling, simulation and analysis experience related to orbital mechanics and the geometry of space-to-target missions - Systems Tool Kit (STK) or equivalent analysis tools that support high precision orbit integration, payload sensor modeling and maneuver modeling - MS Office applications and excellent written and oral communication skills - MATLAB - Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI Desired Skills: - Modeling spacecraft payload sensors - Geodesy coursework - STK/Matlab integration - Orbit adjust modeling - Propellant/delta-velocity budget generation - Familiarity with Java - TS/SCI clearance BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: job.Qualifications Lockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
