Description:Within the Cognitive Solutions organization, this role leads research and development of Internet of Things applied to operational technologies. This is a key senior technical leadership position that will have significant impact positioning Lockheed Martin for the future. Responsibilities includes providing technical leadership in full-stack IoT technologies across the enterprise, engaging external organizations, developing strategic technology roadmaps, and working with the AI/ML leader to deliver transformative technology to Lockheed's operations.The Cognitive Solutions team is responsible for technology integration, portfolio execution, and effective technology transfer of digital technology projects, utilizing cognitive solutions, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and IIoT, which continuously drive efficiency and state of the art capabilities into company operations.Basic Qualifications:Master---s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science. PhD preferred10+ years experience developing and delivering IoT solutions, in particular within the aerospace and defense, hi-tech, or industrial segmentsExpertise with full-stack IoT architectures and technologies, including edge connectivity and protocols, cloud-hosting, analytics, identity and access management, alarms and notifications, logging and monitoring, web hosting, mobile and web apps, and cybersecurityExpertise with VMs, containers, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code, DevSecOps, and Agile methodologiesStrong proficiency in modern languages, operating systems, data frameworks, scalable storage, analytics infrastructures: C++/C#, Java, Linux, Windows, JSON, Hadoop, Spark, etcStrong experience with robotics and/or manufacturing automationDemonstrated acknowledgement as a leader in the IoT fieldDemonstrated career progression as a continual learnerSuccessful coaching and mentoring less experienced employeesDemonstrated success in development and implementation of related technologiesDesired Skills:Familiarity with AI/ML algorithms, techniques, and principlesSolid experience developing strategic technology roadmapsDemonstrated success energizing teams, openly collaborating, and enabling their best performanceDemonstrated effective communication skills as the position will require frequent interactions with technical and executive leaders across the enterprise. Demonstrated ability to explain technical solutions in business terms.
