Construction Procurement Specialist

Job Description:
As a member of the company's Design & Construction team, the
Construction Purchasing Specialist is responsible for assisting
Project Managers with procurement of all services and products
needed for all projects. This individual will be the main point
person for all departmental project procurement needs and will act
as a liaison to the Accounting & Procurement departments as needed.
Additionally, this position will work directly with Construction
Project Managers and Directors to ensure that all procurement needs
for each project are met within the timelines required to maintain
schedule, and track deliveries and manage stored material/equipment
as required. Duties: General:
- Work with VP, Directors and Project Managers to understand
project needs and purchasing priorities
- Foster good working relationships with all vendor partners
- Provide regular progress updates to Construction team
- Create and maintain a database with historical cost and lead
time information for all products and services purchased with
regularity by the Construction Department
- Establish a vendor performance feedback process
- Establish KPI's and track progress and performance
- File management and document retention Requesting & Reviewing
Proposals:
- Draft RFP forms, in consultation with PM, for all services and
items to be purchase
- Identify applicable contract forms to be utilized for items to
be purchased and craft RFP with contract requirements in mind
- Manage all files and reference documents needed as the basis of
proposals (drawings, reports, contract forms, etc.)
- Review proposals for completeness and compliance with RFP
- Work with vendor to provide in a timely manner and ensure
compliance with RFP criteria
- Perform bid leveling and provide bid analysis to PM for review
Processing Requisitions/PO's/Contracts:
- Enter requisitions into applicable software
- Work with PM to draft contract form, with applicable exhibits
if required
- Upon PM approval, process contracts and PO's for mutual
execution Delivery Tracking & Inventory Management:
- Request technical submittals from Equipment vendors and route
to Design Team for review and approval
- Work with vendor upon mutual execution of contract and formal
approval of technical submittal to ensure supply chain and
production activities have been initiated
- Track planned deliveries against contractual delivery
requirements and escalate variances to PM as required
- For Equipment to be stored for future use, perform receipt
inspection upon delivery
- Perform inventory inspections periodically (Travel requirement
estimated once per month) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Prior experience with purchasing of Construction related
products and services
- Prior experience working with a Data Center provider
- Prior experience purchasing major electrical distribution and
electrical distribution equipment
- Strong working knowledge of contracts and purchase orders
- Ability to solve practical problems quickly, handle multiple
tasks and organize resources to ensure work is completed on
time
- Written & oral communication skills required with the ability
to present to departmental team members
- Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated success at
building team relationships and partnerships across organizational
lines
- Must be focused and able to manage fast-paced, multiple
projects
- Must be detail oriented with excellent organization and time
management skills
- Must understand efficient document control and retention
processes
- Must be reliable, trustworthy and have a high degree of
integrity Education/Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in procurement/purchasing Physical

Compensation for this role includes a base wage between $70,000 -
$85,000 and will vary based on experience. This role is also
eligible for an annual bonus and equity, based upon both individual
