CAD Technician III

Job Description:

As a CAD Technician III, you will demonstrate an expert level of understanding CAD tasks and multiple complexities. This position ensures technical portion of projects are executed in-line with KLJ's quality expectations and standards that ultimately deliver on our strategy of providing an exceptional client experience.

Essential Functions

  • Provide senior leadership and mentoring and coordination between staff for specific projects
  • Prepare and revise technical drawings
  • Assists customers with creative solutions for their projects and provides status updates to contract obligations
  • Train and mentor CAD Technician I and II
  • Provides technical assistance to the go-to-market team with business development, proposals, contracts and development of scopes of work, schedules and budgets for large and complex business opportunities
  • Utilize effective written and oral communication

    • May have client interaction for specific clients or projects
    • Completes highly complex tasks with limited oversight
    • Distribute work with coordination from Department Manager or Assistant Department Manager
    • Oversee the implementation of processes and procedures
    • Setup and prepare land base information
    • Create and review construction staking sheets
    • May provide quality control by reviewing work completed by other CAD technicians to ensure compliance with KLJ quality standards

      • High School diploma or GED


        • A two-year degree in drafting technology
        • Professional Certification from the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA)
        • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate motorized vehicles
          Hours and Travel

          This position requires the individual work 40 or more hours per week with 95% of time spent in the office and 5% may be spent out of the office. An example of out of the office work could be looking at a project in the field, training, etc.

            • Frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds

              Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
