Subfamily Description Ensures Safe Quality Food (SQF) compliant
operations of CMM. Responsibilities include overseeing quality of
operational performance and analysis, planning and execution.
Management, and leadership, including performance management.
Develops and implements systems/ tools to support the Quality
Assurance of CMM. Position Purpose Oversee, plan, direct, and
coordinate quality assurance. Maintains a stable, organized and
effective quality program. Responsible for all aspects of Quality
activities for the plant, customer satisfaction. Ownership of the
company's quality control and assurance including training and
re-training of CMM associates. Major Tasks, Responsibilities and
Key Accountabilities
- Establish quality standard that is compliant with SQF and
emergency operating procedures.
- Ensures associates comply with SQF regulations, Resolves any
issues in a timely manner.
- Plan, develop and implement safety and security programs and
activities.
- Ensures proper cold chain compliance regulating temperatures
throughout the supply chain.
- Identifies and reports any needed maintenance and repair of the
operations related equipment that could lead to failing to comply
with SQF. Evaluate/Approve new processes and equipment to meet food
safety standards and advise for improvement.
- Food Safety Programs throughout Production to ensure fully
integrated Food Safety systems are in compliance to State(s),
Federal Food Safety standards including (but not limited to) FSMA,
FDA, SQF and USDA.
- Maintain emphasis on product quality by developing, directing,
and implementing food safety strategies in support of overall
business goals.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to Good
Manufacturing Processes and food safety standards, etc., throughout
the production facilities.
- Directs all Food Safety department functions in regard to food
safety compliance and audits.
- Work to ensure food safety standards are met when new products
are introduced to production.
- Maintain current knowledge and trends and changes affecting
food safety and develop and recommend appropriate program changes,
to ensure customers and governmental compliance
- Builds and post weekly schedules for the QA team to the
forecasted hours and ensures hours worked are within budget
- Develop, train and coach associates engaged in QA for future
career advancement. In addition, ensure associates are trained and
adhering to all department and company policies.
- Ensure associates are providing customer satisfaction through
proper product selection for quality, quantity, accuracy and proper
loading to protect the product.
- Perform work procedures using Good Manufacturing Practices and
HACCP to ensure food safety.
- Adheres to all safe quality food (SQF) requirements and
standards in CMM. Including the proper handling of all produce
according to SQF standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- This position if absent will be covered by the same level or
the next higher level of leadership. Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally,
2-5 years of experience in a related field; certification is
required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of
experience in a related field. Certification is required in some
areas (HACCP Certification).
- 2-5+ years of related Quality experience preferably in the Food
Manufacturing Industry.
- Evaluate/Approve new processes and equipment to meet food
safety standards and advise for improvement.
- Highly motivated, hands-on, results driven, forward thinking
professional who can thrive in a team-oriented environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are
necessary. Bi-lingual (reading, writing and speaking) English and
Spanish
- Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of the
organization, including senior management, customers, consumers,
and regulatory officials.
- Risk management minded individual with strong cognitive
thinking and ability to solve complex problems.
- Proven track record of success, driving performance results
across all functions of the business.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and manage food
safety systems. Environment Job Requirements Located in a
refrigerated warehouse environment. Must be able to stand for
periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, squat, turn body
and walk. Must be able to work in a cold cooler environment (36
degrees and below). Minimal travel may be required; less than 10%.
