What you'll do:
Perform pricing, reserving, financial reporting and other data
analytic projects. - Develop a strong understanding of supporting
actuarial methodologies and data analyses. - Develop actuarial,
statistical, and predictive analyses/models to better differentiate
loss costs and risk in the Company's insurance portfolio and
improve business processes. - Analyses to be performed in a timely
fashion with performance of models within a reasonable range of
expectations; process improvements to be measured per operating
What you can expect:
- Assist in pricing projects including development of loss costs,
rates, and appropriate credit/debits for key account
characteristics. - Perform special studies to develop improved
- Produce and maintain actuarial work products related to
financial and other reporting requirements.
- Assist in IBNR reserve quarterly review process in coordination
with independent Actuarial Consultant. - Perform internal IBNR
reserve reviews. - Enhance and broaden current approaches to gain
further insights on the performance of key business segments.
- Develop a deep understanding of internal company databases, and
become proficient at querying large datasets with SAS/SQL for use
in actuarial studies. -
- Update and develop an understanding of current internal
enterprise risk management models and become familiar with industry
best practices and methodologies. -
- Support data strategy development and business/data
- Conduct/review analyses into risk and profitability of key
- Conduct/review studies on the industry and key competitors
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you need to be successful:
Successful completion of at least two actuarial exams making
progress towards designation as an Associate of the Casualty
Actuarial Society. At least two years of progressively more
responsible experience in insurance industry, or a related
quantitative field. - Prior experience with programming languages /
software such as SAS, R, SQL, and/or other statistical programming
language is preferred; proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. -
Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or
related area. - Excellent communication skills both oral and
written. Relevant work experience (similar kind of work at a
similar level of work as described in the essential duties) may be
substituted for the education requirements. Completion of a degree
is encouraged and supported.

the Denver area and make sure there's equal pay for equal work
among those you'll be working with. The compensation amount for
this role is targeted at $70,000-$81,000. Final offer amounts are
determined by multiple factors including your experience and
expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
