Job Description:

The Lead Technician Data and Voice works on customer sites in a variety of environments including new construction, remodels, and operating facilities. This position is also responsible for complying with Encore standards for Safety, and Customer Service. General Responsibilities: Works with a commitment to safety Upholds the core values of Encore Electric. Acts as a professional and uses basic work ethics. Comes to work on time every day with appropriate attire and tools. Keeps work area clean Installs quality work in a neat and workmanship like manner. Treats tools with respect. Works and climbs on ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms. Identifies electrical parts and components. Perform strenuous physical work i.e., digging, kneeling, shoveling, lifting, pulling, pushing, climbing. Keeps up with changing technology. Keeps up with the national electrical code. Wears tools at all required times. Work in all weather conditions Specific Responsibilities: Work independently or as part of a team. Understand and follow safety guidelines and ensure others are following the appropriate protocols. Understand scopes of work and can effectively complete the tasks associated. Understand common industry tools including applicable testing equipment and how to use them. Efficiently lead crews on different sized projects and/or more than one. Communicate, educate and delegate effectively. Responsibilities for Telecom. Read and interpret detailed specifications and drawings, blueprints, schematics, and method of procedures (MOPs). Install Frame and rack builds. Run multiple cable types including power, fiber, and network transmission. Use a variety of specific connectors and terminating procedures lacing, stitching, sewing cables. Terminate DC power, rectifiers, PDUs, BDFB/BDCBBs, inverters, converters, rand associated infrastructure used in telecommunications networks. Terminate cables using RJ45 connectors. Clean and scope fiber connectors, Document light levels and other readings with job specific testing equipment (ex: OTDR) Install ironwork (ladder rack) cable paths, horizontal and vertical pathways for fiber optic cable management systems, and create a physical cable path for equipment and cable design. Tests and evaluates systems to determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing system. Complete detailed documents of work performed and provide daily status updates. General Ability to train and teach technicians on installations standards and methods, as well as company related requirements Work within time and budget restraints Provide site supervision of install team with direction from the Superintendent or Project Manager Travel to various job sites required Other duties as may be assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Skill in: Excellent organization skills. Acting as a self-starter. Working with little supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication Spatial orientation. Estimating resources needed to complete required tasks Using communication software. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with customers, vendors, consultants, management, and employees. Microsoft office products. Prioritizing and reprioritizing to meet job needs. Identifying and managing risk. Problem solving. Basic electrical principals to install and troubleshoot complex security systems. Basic networking. Ability to: Adapting to new and changing requirements, environments, and/or information. Retain and access critical information from memory. Managing people and processes. Managing complex projects, breaking them down to their component levels. Think on your feet. Understand when to speak and when not to speak. Be personally detached from ideas (no ego) See things from multiple perspectives. REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in a Technology Construction related field is preferred. Formal education in Electronics or related field is also preferred. Compensation for this role is based on Experience!
