Data Analyst - FT - Lakewood, CO or Orlando, FL Salary range - $60,000 - $70,000 About the School: RMCAD is a small, premier college certified by HLC and NASAD offering degrees in fine and applied arts, located in Denver, CO. The college is open enrollment and students can choose various degrees including Animation & Game Art, Graphic Design, Photography, Interior Design, etc. All students take a common set of foundation courses before specializing in their chosen program. Job Summary The Insights Analyst at Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design will be responsible for supporting all aspects of data collection and visualization, with an emphasis on understanding departmental dynamics and their key performance indicators. The position requires fact-based research capabilities, strong quantitative and analytical data modeling, strategic thinking and collaboration skills, excellent presentation and communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to provide insights that move from problem definition to pragmatic operational execution. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design reporting tools that allow users to customize different views of metrics or slices of results over large data sets
  • Create and maintain end-user reports and dashboards (PowerBI) in collaboration with the Institutional Insights staff, create and maintain technical documentation, including data dictionaries, and transform operational data into a reporting data warehouse
  • Creation of creative and compelling metrics, reporting and self-service dashboards
  • Provides assistance and counsel in the analysis and interpretation of academic, student services, and administrative data and takes a role in promoting the use of information in college decision-making
  • Manage ad hoc analyses and special projects, such as new initiatives, risks and opportunities that are frequently emerging
  • Support the Director of Finance and Institutional Effectiveness with financial and operational modeling, building models from scratch, improving existing models and breaking larger models into sub-components to help drive sound business decisions
  • Perform various research tasks including data retrieval/collection (surveys), tracking, and reporting on special institutional research/analysis projects prioritized by the Institutional Insights department, related to student access and success as well as institutional effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology Services and other department managers to design and implement innovative technical solutions for displaying and disseminating information.
  • Develop analysis plans and apply appropriate statistical techniques and/or predictive modeling to answer institutional research questions
  • Gather new data, link disparate forms of data, and/or creatively use existing data to propose metrics and present them in compelling way
  • Support the Director of Finance and Institutional Effectiveness as well as faculty and staff, where appropriate, in preparing annual and other data reports, including reports for IPEDS, CDHE, DOE, Title II, HLC, and NASAD Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Data Science or Computer Information System or related preferred
    • 3+ years of experience in Analytics and Visualization tools (PowerBI and Tableau) and engineering automated reporting solutions
    • Experience with statistical analysis, regression modeling and forecasting, time series analysis, and data mining
    • Data presentation skills that allow you to clearly, compellingly, and effectively influence audiences internally and externally, across organization boundaries.
    • Commitment to and experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion especially as relevant to institutional effectiveness.
