Nature of Work:Jobs in this career family develop, maintain, and support computer systems, software and networks. --Functions include enterprise operations, distributed computing, academic computing, research computing, computer hardware and software management, computer networking, telecommunications, systems development, database administration, server administration, website management, programming, desktop support, and help desk operations.Position Description:This position will provide project management support to three Department of Emergency Medicine initiatives: Clinical Pathways Informaticist (Department of Emergency Medicine), the Data Analytics Team, and the Emergency Department's Process Improvement Committee. An individual in this position will work in a self-directed manner and must have excellent prioritization skills. This full-time, University Staff (non-classified) position may be filled at the intermediate professional through senior level, depending on the successful candidate's education, experience, and suitability for a particular position.--Intermediate Professionals:Professionals at the intermediate level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.--At the intermediate level, duties may be more limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals.Senior Professional:Senior Professionals are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field. --Work is performed fully independently.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Pathways Informaticist (Department of Emergency Medicine) initiatives:
    • Lead and operate the Department of Emergency Medicine Clinical Pathways program for the department. --
    • Work with physicians, nurses and operational leadership to translate complex clinical processes into clinical pathways.--
    • Build the pathway program and deployed to all of our clinical sites of care.
    • Manage the Epic interface, update the pathways, and interface will all operational clinical leaders.
    • Manage pathway utilization and compliance, including the preparation and delivery of utilization reports.--
    • Serve as primary interface with AgileMD (vendor with whom we have an enterprise license).
    • Maintain expert level proficiency with the tools, processes and mechanisms to successfully implement pathways within AgileMD and Epic so that they are effectively used within a clinical environment.--
    • Data Analytics Team initiatives:
      • Manage all aspects of project management for the Data Analytics Team across a variety of UCHealth service lines and areas, including:
        • Emergency Department Service Line
        • Urgent Care Service line
        • Virtual Urgent Care Service Line
        • SOM Emergency Department Finance Team
        • SOM Emergency Department Research
        • Provide project management skills (technical and soft skills) that effectively manage the Data Analytics Team. This includes:
          • Successfully managing all current and future work (approximately 300 annual projects / work requests), which includes identifying project requirements, coordinating project design sessions, developing detailed project plans, identifying necessary resources and assuring that project due dates are met on-time and with high quality.
          • Managing the Project Request Process (ITSM) and our "Way of Working" project delivery methodology.
          • Managing the status of all data projects so that they are delivered on time.
          • Providing oversight on all projects so that they meet / exceed our defined product quality standards.
          • Performing monthly demand and capacity planning and adjusting schedules / resources to best balance planned work with changing demands.
          • Maintaining clear and frequent communications with all data requesters.
          • Work directly with stakeholders on future projects.
          • Leading analytic initiatives that drive a "Data Driven" organizational culture, improves stakeholder relationships, and keeps our services at the forefront of our stakeholder's minds. This includes:
            • Weekly analytics team collaborations with our analysts and our Community of Practice members.
            • Monthly PMO Scorecard to communicate the status of all projects to all stakeholders.
            • Monthly Analytics Team Meeting, which includes all stakeholders and leadership.
            • Quarterly Analytics Team field trips.
            • Quarterly "Data Insider" newsletter.
            • Semi-annual Data Summit at any of our regions.
            • Participate on the annual Analytics Team BI Strategy and accountable to successfully deliver on assigned goals.Process Improvement Committee initiatives:
              • Provide project management skills that assist department process improvement leadership in planning and executing department-wide process improvement events.--
              • Support process improvement initiatives by assigning tasks and tracking project progress.--

                    • Experience utilizing project management tools.
                    • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and/or other process improvement methodologies, concepts and tools.--
                    • Previous experience working in a healthcare setting.
                    • Experience using Epic or another electronic health records software.Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
                      • Strong knowledge of statistics or data analytics.
                      • Demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed manner to consistently meet deadlines.
                      • Self-starter with proven ability to organize and follow through multiple complex tasks and projects simultaneously.
                      • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to various situations.
                      • Excellent time management and organization skills.
                      • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
                      • High level proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience with Microsoft Visio preferred.--
                      • Demonstrated statistical analysis skills.
                      • Ability to effectively explain processes and procedures.
                      • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
                      • Desire to work in a team environment.
