Burris Company Inc is looking for experienced CNC Machine Operators.
- 2nd Shift: Monday through Friday, 2 PM to 10:30 PM.
- 3rd Shift: Sunday PM through Friday AM, 10 PM to 6:30 AM.
Allowing you to still enjoy your weekends ! Base pay plus $1 per hour shift differential. Benefits begin the first of month following date of hire.
Works under general supervision and has general knowledge of the manufacturing process. The machinist will machine and inspect parts to required specification.
General knowledge of manufacturing processes, CNC equipment capability, and daily maintenance; familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Operate multiple CNC machines simultaneously. Machine parts to specification working from CAD files, mechanical drawings and sketches; ability to hold tight tolerances, down to 0.0002 inches Set up CNC equipment with supervision; perform offsets as needed; perform side operations on other equipment as needed (deburr). Perform first part inspections and inspect and measure parts to maintain blueprint specifications. Communicate with co-workers and supervisor to coordinate work activities. Utilize measuring equipment used in the industry such as calipers, micrometers, height gauge and other measuring equipment needed to complete work. Read and interpret documents such as work orders, drawings, internal specifications, manuals, and safety regulations. Utilize production work orders and documents; ensure all documentation is complete and correct. Use prescribed procedures to inspect part(s) and product(s) produced to assure compliance to specifications that will eliminate defects, scrap, rework, etc. Ensure part(s) meet all quality requirements. Detect and report defective equipment, materials and/or faulty operations to supervisor. Maintain equipment and work area on a daily basis in a clean and orderly condition. Follow prescribed work rules and standard safety regulations at all times. Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time. Maintain clean work area and machine. Ability to work overtime as required. Perform other duties as required.
Education & experience requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 2 years of work experience with CNC machining
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Ability to read, understand technical mechanical drawings, including orthographic projections, sectional views, part notes, and dimensions & tolerances. Basic understanding of blueprints; ability to read, understand, and translate blueprints. Basic mechanical knowledge, ability to use hand tools, and good mechanical aptitude Strong attention to detail. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English. Ability to adapt to change.
Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.
