Merchandise Assistant - Dresses/Skirts

The Merchandise Assistant will work effectively as a member of the cross functional brand team by communicating clearly and focusing on team objectives. Manage Samples. Keep samples organized and up to date for use in merchant presentations, visual set-ups, and seasonal marketing. Work seasonally with other MA's to donate samples selected by Merchandising. Enter and approve markdowns, markups, and promotions. Ensure accuracy of markdowns, promotional pricing and effective dates. Plan and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and increase efficiency. Complete seasonal projects for merchants. Maintain reports and tools, as needed by merchant team. Advanced computer skills in Excel and email with an aptitude for learning new programs. Demonstrate strong ability to be financially responsible and understand financial implications of mistakes. Strong organizational and planning skills to ensure timely and accurate execution of responsibilities. Strong ability to identify and execute priorities with a sense of urgency. Handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment. Have a pro-active approach to responsibilities. Strong communication and relationship/team skills.
--- Work Schedule: Monday & Wednesdays (would like flexibility to shift between Tue & Thur depending on workload)
--- Hours per Week: 22-25 hours per week
--- Describe the project: Daily tasks-mostly tactical working in Excel and Excel-based tools, some sample management, systems updates.
--- Team Size: 2 Merchants
--- Job Description/Responsibilities: Assist Senior Merchant with day-to-day business needs including system updates, ranking and hanging samples, excel-based tool updates, cc counts, competitive landscape research.
--- What are the Top 3-5 Skills: Attention to detail, ability to work in excel and learn new tools quickly, motivated and determined to get job done correctly.
--- Top 3-5 Soft Skills: Strong communicator (both written and verbal), willing to take action on feedback, team player, intuitive/wants to learn and asks questions when unclear.
--- Type of background: College graduate with at least 2 years on-the-job experience in an office environment or similar.
--- Software skills required: outlook/email, excel, web-based tools (Assortment tool, GA).
--- What does a typical day look like?: Constantly changing-must be able to shift gears as needed. Some days are more tactical in excel and making system updates while other days are product focused and away from the desk.
