QA TechnicianOur CompanyPressery is a food and beverage company located in Denver, CO. Our mission is to create delicious and healthy products while fostering meaningful relationships with consumers and growers. We are currently looking to hire a Quality Assurance Technician based in our Denver, Colorado manufacturing plant.Duties/ResponsibilitiesMonitoring, testing, recording, and reacting to data pertaining to products/production processes/quality systems to ensure the highest standards of quality and food safety are met or exceeded and that products produced are in compliance with federal, state, and company specifications.?Performs routine tests to ensure resulting mixture meets specified properties and consistencies.Produce accurate results, while multi-tasking in a fast-paced work environment.?Performs periodic sampling of products as they are being bottled/canned to ensure continuous meeting of standards including product quality, fill levels, labeling, freshness dating, and container integrityAnticipate problems/conflicts, problem-solve, and react accordingly, and maintain a proactive approach to all work tasks and any issues as they arise.?Interpret, understand, support, and have a working knowledge of Plant/Corporate protocols and programs, as well as facility systems, including informational/operational/management systems.?Records test data and communicates modifications to the manufacturing process to eliminate any irregularities. May be required to periodically deep clean and sanitize blending/filling equipment and production lines.Actively support new system installations and implementations and seek to continually maintain reliability.?Participate in verification activities in prerequisite programs such as Water and Air Quality, Foreign Material Control, Calibration, Allergen Management, Environmental Monitoring, Printed Packaging and Product Integrity, Cleaning and Sanitation, Non-Conforming Reporting, Non-Conforming Product Ingredient and Equipment.Participate in Analytical Performance Proficiency Testing.Implement continuous improvements within all systems and seek to minimize waste and loss.?Assist/train/coach employees within all levels of the organization in regard to quality and food safety related topics.All other duties as assigned.Minimum Requirements, Abilities, and ExpectationsHigh School diploma or GED required.3+ years of quality and/or lab experience in the food industry is preferred.Must have the ability to complete required applicable forms in English, which requires the ability to read and write in English. Spanish a positive.Experience in any of the following areas may be helpful:Audit compliance (e.g., monitoring, documentation, variance explanation, etc.)Product changeovers (e.g., CIP, flavor changes, sanitizing, setting formulas, etc.)Operating testing instruments (e.g., Carbo Qc, HPLC, Densitometers, Water Testing, etc.)Following standards of operations (SOPs) (e.g., following procedures, etc.)Calibrating instruments (e.g., making adjustments to ensure accurate measurement, etc.)Microbiology (e.g., product sensitivity, Category 3 and Category 4 products, etc.)Reverse osmosis/water treatment systems (e.g., permeated technology, etc.)Cooling/ammonia systems (e.g., able to trouble shoot and maintain, etc.)Mechanical systems (e.g., general trouble shooting, cleaning and reassembly, etc.)Sensory testing (e.g., taste, odor, appearance vs. reference sample, etc.)Basic chemistry (e.g., titrator, pH, dosing, graduated cylinders, mixing, etc.)Food safety (e.g., AIB certification, operations prerequisite programs, UP lights, etc.)Work Environment and Physical DemandsExposure to wet conditions.The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, grasp with both hands, or feel; substantial movements (motion) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers; reaching and pulling with hands and arms.Prolonged standing or sitting - walking is required around the facility.Lifting/carrying cases weighing 20-45 pounds repeatedly over 10-12 hour period and continuous standing and walking, manipulating and handling product samples while sitting.The base compensation for this position is $25.00 per hour and is eligible for overtime.Pressery is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
