Summary:
This is an add-on position to an employee's current full-time position; it is not a full-time position in itself. The individual that adds the SOD title at the end of their regular title has proven they can handle the essential duties of the position and agree to step in whenever the company needs. The essential duties consist of covering the supervisory responsibilities while the full-time supervisor is unavailable for any reason.
This position will receive the title and pay increase after the employee has demonstrated they can perform the essential duties. The pay increase will be in effect regardless of when or how often the employee needs to step into the Supervisor-On-Duty position.
The position, along with the title and pay increase, may be revoked from an employee based on company needs and if at any time the employee fails to be willing to step in or complete the essential duties agreed upon below.
Essential Duties:

• Direct hourly employees by monitoring procedures, and the quality and quantity of production, with the assistance of the Quality Manager and Production Ensure best practices are being followed.
• Taking appropriate, prompt, corrective action regarding any potential safety hazard complying with all safety rules and procedures with assistance from the Safety Manager.
• Signing off on the Factory Work Order that the initial set-up is correct and matches what is required by the information on the FWO.
• Interpreting company policies and settling complaints and work-related problems with the assistance of the HR Manager.
• Performing minor maintenance.
• Daily analyzing operating performances and taking appropriate corrective actions.
• Maintaining ongoing communications with maintenance, scheduling, management, and other supervisors.
• Meeting or exceeding performance goals as determined with the Production Manager.
• Continually improving knowledge and understanding of business and production process.
• Initiating cutting die and/or printing plate repairs and/or replacements.
• Ability to run end-of-shift reports and send out end-of-shift pass down.
• Ensuring all PQVs are filled out.
• Other duties as assigned. Education/Experience:
  • Required 2 years' experience in the manufacturing of corrugated shipping.
  • Experience as a lead strongly preferred. Knowledge:
    • Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding.
    • Technical knowledge of box making, printing, and die cutting processes.
    • Ability to speak and write fluently in English.
    • Understanding of costs and profitability.
    • Must have knowledge of shipping procedures, banding, and pallet counts of finished good units.
    • Working knowledge of current total quality management theories and practices. Skills/Abilities:
      • Excellent people and communication skills.
      • Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
