Job SummaryUnder minimal supervision, assists in developing and
implementing initial training, future training and care team
development programs for assigned areas. Conducts ongoing education
for the team and is responsible for assuring the competency of the
professional nurse and unlicensed personnel in those assigned
areas. Evidence of competency is reviewed and documented at least
annually and is based upon the most recent evidence and best
practices. Lead the departments evidences base orientation program.
Adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of
professional nursing practice / process and performance, and the
ANA Code of Ethics (2015)* to provide care to all healthcare
consumers. Applies critical thinking, evidence-based practices and
competence to collaborate with the health care team to promote
excellence in healthcare consumer safety and quality outcomes.
Utilizes the Theory of Human Caring and Caritas in daily practice.

career! As the Clinical Nurse Educator of this brand new 23 bed
unit planned to open in June 2021, you will be responsible for the
creation and distribution of education materials and training of
staff that provide care to emergency department patients placed on
observation status. The intent of this unit is to provide focused,
quality care to patients who present to the emergency department
but do not meet full admission requirements. Examples of patients
cared for in this protocol-driven unit will be those suffering from
chest pain, asthma, allergic reactions, trauma re-evaluations and
back pain. This flexible hours role will be a split
staffing/educator position with 0.6 FTE dedicated towards the CNE
role and 0.3 staffing on the unit.[JC1]Can this be deleted? I

of assessment findings as they relate to the disease process and

initiatives.Evaluates practice in relation to professional
standards, statues, regulatory requirements, hospital and
departmental policies, and standards of care.Promotes quality care
by redefining priorities for care based on evaluation of healthcare
consumer/family response or changing condition. Education
Bachelor's Degree (Required) Completion of an accredited nursing
education program that satisfies the licensing requirements of the
Colorado State Board of Nursing for Registered Nurses. Bachelor's
degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Master Degree in Nursing or
related field preferred.3 years direct patient care nursing
experience. Master's DegreeExperience Credentials Registered Nurse
(Required) Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of
Colorado or a participating compact state. National board
certification is a preference and encouraged for all nurse
