WIC Counselor Peer (Job ID: 9350)Job SummaryUnder general
supervision, a WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor is a
paraprofessional support person who gives breastfeeding information
and encouragement to WIC pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.
*Bilingual Spanish preferred*
Responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesBilingual (English/Spanish) skills are
preferred. Knowledge of and ability to use common office equipment,
such as copier, fax machine, and computer. Ability to communicate
effectively orally and in writing and provide clear explanations
and answers. Ability to establish and maintain effective
relationships with the public, other agencies, staff, and
administration.Knowledge of Microsoft Excel a plus.
Education:
High School/ GED required
Experience:Has breast fed at least one baby, willing to attend
breastfeeding training classes to become a peer counselor
Certifications and Licenses: Lactation cert a plus but not
required
Location:Mostly remote - required to occasionally come on site for
training and 1 day in-person meeting per month
Work Type
Intermittent 10 - 15 hours per week.Pay RangeMinimum:
17.00Midpoint: 20.05Maximum: 23.08All job applicants for
