General Purpose of the Position
The System Administrator is a highly technical position responsible for day-to-day management of the end user computing hardware, software, configurations, tools, and peripheral technology. The role will function as a tier 2/3 end user computing administrator responsible for building, deploying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting all aspects of our IT end user delivered services. The role will manage incident and request management in support of our IT Service Management process and tools. They will work directly with our employees to represent themselves and their team as the face of IT, interacting directly and being available to assist the end user community with technology questions and issues. The role owns the deployment of new workstation/laptop builds as well as our refresh program for EOL hardware. The System Administrator will be responsible for client software installations, application validation, configuration, and cloud productivity tools. The role will be an active collaborator with the credit union business and support the delivery of IT services to the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes the following). May perform other duties as requested or assigned.


  • Manage end to end lifecycle of end user computing technology, peripherals, and experience.
  • Customer focused, with an ability to provide technical solutions and support while communicating in a common manor with non-technical customers.
  • Strong working knowledge of LAN/WAN/Cloud based computing infrastructures used to deliver client computing experiences.
  • Must maintain master images/configurations for all end user clients with certified acceptance of all security, usability, and peripheral support.
  • Responsible for building new/refreshed PCs, laptops, wireless devices, and virtual desktops to standard image/configuration.
  • Directly work with end users on deployments, installs and troubleshooting of issues related to end user technology
  • Will assist in managing cloud-based productivity and collaboration tools (Office 365).
  • Administer Microsoft Active Directory, group policies for users and computers.
  • Evaluate and implement opportunities to automate processes through tool sets and custom scripting.
  • Manage incident/request queues to provide top tier end user service, responding according to SLAs and business need.
  • Evaluate current technology road maps for products and services related to end user computing and make recommendations for opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide experience, guidance, and knowledge to other end user computing staff.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of desktop/laptop/mobile devices to meet business needs, work with supervisor and management to procure and deploy as required.
  • Software Install Package creation and management.
  • Experience with software and operating system delivery, end point management and Windows system patching, (Microsoft SCCM 2012+, WSUS, Antivirus/Malware).
  • Ensure availability of mobile workforce management, including BYOD, MDM, and Wireless Device management (Microsoft Intune, Cisco ISE).
  • Deliver and support Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.
  • Will be a service matter expert on standard business end user software including productivity, core connectivity and other business needs.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organizations executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT infrastructure issues and activities.
  • Responsible for IT Asset Management of client devices and peripherals
  • Plans, maintains, documents, and implement components for a business recovery strategy to resume operations of the computer platforms in the event of a disaster or similar contingency.
  • Collaborates regularly with all areas of the business to provide training and education on end user technologies
  • Will be responsible for tracking and inventory of end user computing assets.
  • Timely communication and issue escalation ensuring appropriate and accurate visibility to all levels of stakeholders, including senior management team.





    Requirements
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    Bachelors degree (B.A.) from an accredited four (4) year college or university; or four years in a related field; or any combination of experience and/or training equivalent to bachelors degree in a related field, plus three years related End User Computing experience. Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level. Demonstrated Technical skills in complex, highly available, secure networks, and infrastructure. Exemplary technical and business assessment skills to evaluate strategic value of technology systems, data solutions and work processes to serve members and employees.

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    Experience with the most current technologies, products and solutions used in the industry.
    Preferred Platforms include:

    • Microsoft Platform, Productivity, System Center Configuration Manager and Cloud Solutions
    • Cisco Meraki, Networking, WebEx, Collaboration and Security
    • ITSM tool sets (ManageEngine, Remedy, ServiceNow, etc.)
    • Dell Desktop/Laptop hardware experience
    • ITIL Foundations Certification preferred
    • Scripting experience PowerShell, VBS, Perl, etc.
    • Financial Core System Management - Symitar/JHA/ProfitStars and AIX


      Additional knowledge of the following a plus:

      • IT Frameworks (ITIL, TOGAF, COBIT, ISO 20000)
      • Network and Systems Administration (MCSA/MCSE, CCNA, Network+, A+)
      • Cloud Application Support
      • Vendor Management
