General Purpose of the Position
Responsible for the timely and accurate posting of electronic payments and exceptions, balancing and reconciling branch deposits, posting share drafts and processing exceptions, processing cash orders, ACH, and cash management and settlement activity. This position is also responsible for working directly with members and other departments to process transactions, offer guidance, and help to resolve issues. Responsibilities also include preparing operational reports used by managers throughout the Credit Union, analyzing and reconciling detailed general ledger accounts and daily teller work, keeping records and accounts accurate and current, and researching and resolving outages, discrepancies, and accounting errors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes the following). May perform other duties as requested or assigned.


  • Processes share draft exceptions, including outgoing returns and large dollar notifications.
  • Processes ACH originations, exceptions, returns, stop payments and disputes.
  • Processes and balances daily ATM check activity and performs code line repairs as needed.
  • Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed.
  • Researches and resolves questions about activity on members accounts.
  • Conducts daily balancing of Mortgage Loan Servicing activity and works collaboratively with Mortgage Department to resolve outages.
  • Performs member verifications and callbacks for outgoing wires. Places wire orders through the Federal Reserve Bank and corporate credit union and records the transactions on the members account.
  • Records incoming wire transfers of funds for members accounts.
  • Ensures timely and accurate balancing of daily check deposits at the Federal Reserve and resolution of differences.
  • Processes incoming cash letter adjustments from the Federal Reserve. Researches, identifies, and makes any necessary corrections to member accounts. Contacts personnel in the branches to resolve the adjustments.
  • Prepares outgoing adjustments to the Federal Reserve Bank and applies the necessary corrections to member accounts.
  • Processes cash orders received from the branches and arranges delivery through our corporate service provider
  • Maintains specified settlement balances in various bank accounts ensuring proper funding and cash management.
  • Processes the application of payroll funds from various state agencies.
  • Processes domestic and foreign collection items.
  • Reconciles various asset and liability accounts and clears outstanding items.
  • Prepares and maintains procedures for the duties of this position.
  • Provides excellent service by demonstrating courtesy and personal concern for members and co-workers needs and follows up to ensure those needs are met.
  • Adhere to all Federal and State laws and regulations applicable to the credit union, including the Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC.





    Requirements
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ACH certification is strongly preferred.
    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    Technical knowledge of basic accounting principles, concepts, practices, and procedures. Understanding of related regulations, statutes, and filing requirements. Ability to apply verbal and interpersonal skills that develop member confidence, respect and trust in Credit Union of Colorado and develop cooperative relationships with all levels of people throughout the organization. Proficient in 10-key and microcomputer operations. Knowledge of Credit Union core computer system and other related computer applications, with emphasis in Microsoft products, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically required to sit for long periods. The employee continually is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop and reach with hands and arms. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to [10] pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
