The Head of Global Content will be responsible for providing strategic direction for all marketing and communication content initiatives across Western Union, both internal and external, across multiple platforms and formats to drive the strategy of brand engagement, retention, leads, and positive customer behavior. This role will be responsible for creating and executing the content strategy while leading a dynamic team to success. The position collaborates and leads strategic creative ideation with the departments of public relations, communications, marketing, customer service and human resources to help define both the global western union brand story and the story as interpreted by the customer.The role will be measured on continually improving customer nurturing and retention through storytelling across Western Union Globally. Also, the increase in new prospects into the enterprise through the consistent development and deployment of content strategy to each persona group. Primary criteria for success are customer and employee affinity across Western Union Globally. The content will be measured to show customer relevance, customer satisfaction, and, most important-employee, advocacyFor such a critical role, education or equivalent experience is required. Bachelor's degree preferred.15+ years of experience as a respected leader in multichannel content creation (publishing, journalism, etc.)Demonstrated ability to create compelling messages for different target demographicsHistory of experience with media partners and paid media companiesExperience in journalismPractice working with a digital newsroomExperience working with world-class brands.Must have a track record of employing exceptional creative skills and executing strategic, communications and content programs to achieve business and reputational goals.Crisis communications experience is a plus.Audience development and subscription strategies experience is a plus.Experience counseling and communicating with C-suite-level executives.Ability to manage geographically dispersed teamsThe ability to lead and inspire large teams of creative personnel and content creators to achieve the company's stated goalsProven editorial skills. Outstanding command of English (or primary customer) language.Training as a print or broadcast journalistA passion for new technology tools (aka, using the tools you preach about) and using those tools within your blogs and social media outreach.
