Shimmick is seeking a highly talented IT Systems Architect based out of Denver, CO or a remote location within the United States.

This role will help digital experience leaders realize their future business capabilities by playing a critical role in the transformation and modernization of core technology platforms while driving innovation through technology. Focusing on key transformations around but not limited to driving the definition & adoption of architecture principles, tenable standards, best practices, and design patterns, across the technology team and the business. Driving the exploration and development of emerging technologies will be a hallmark of this position. The role will be expected to proactively research market trends, perform hands on evaluation and competitive assessment to inform technology strategy that supports the company's overall technology stack and directional vision.

The role will directly interface with senior business and technology leaders to transform our current business and technology capabilities to pave the way for best-in-class future solutions. Becoming a dedicated partner to senior Technology and Business leaders while supporting current state, defining target state, roadmaps, blueprints and identify how these technologies will transform and optimize the business. You will be required to go deep with business capability assessments to then support business process re-engineering in support of adopting and rolling out new technologies. This role will be hands-on, dedicated and focused on supporting 1-2 major multiyear IT and business transformation programs (for example, working on concept and inception followed by implementation and adoption of various modules of a new system).

As an organizational leader, you will serve and inspire high-performing members of various IT practices who you will coach, mentor, and empower. The ability to clearly communicate complex ideas and exercise influence across the enterprise is an expected skill. Building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to maximize opportunities and bring capabilities to scale, effective communications, a positive attitude, and a proven track record of serving in a senior technical leadership role are key qualifications.

Typical Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead strategic conversations with business and IT executives, on attaining key business outcomes via digital maturity and transformation.
  • Influence stakeholders and help them design and shape Employee Experience programs for the future.
  • Establish and maintain the three-year target state reference architecture.
  • Utilize your experience in delivering SOX, PCI, GDPR and similar compliant solutions
  • Establish ITIL compliant technology and process standards that can be consumed by solution architects and business analysts to implement across the organization.
  • Be a key part of the enterprise architecture function to ensure alignment of the architecture with technology and information governance processes.
  • Ensure application and solution design is compliant with enterprise architecture standards and enterprise reference architecture.
  • Participate in in-depth evaluations of new technology platforms and provide recommendations.
  • Ensure tracking and remediation of technical debt.
  • Understand, advocate, and improve upon technology strategy, frameworks, standards, and best practices across the enterprise.
  • Be the go-to person / SME on processes and systems.
  • Be a mentor for colleagues and help drive knowledge-sharing.
    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or relevant field + 10 years of r of Industry experience with a minimum of 5 years' experience as a Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect. and/or demonstrated equivalency of education and experience
      Preferred Qualifications
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization, with internal and external customers.
      • High motivation with the ability to motivate others and work collaboratively in a team of business and technical professionals
      • Experience using project management methodologies
      • Experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint
        Experience, Educational Requirements And Certifications
        • Experience architecting solutions and building out target state architectures and roadmaps for medium to large sized organizations
        • Understanding of significant industry shifts taking place in the current Information Technology and workplace service landscape, and be able to design forward-thinking, innovative, and impactful solutions.
        • Proven experience with taking abstract business ideas and converting them to process and system needs
        • Deep domain knowledge on what is "best in class" digital experience for enterprise construction systems
        • Strong interpersonal skills and executive presence to singlehandedly drive presentations with Executives and Senior leaders in the company
        • Experience with defining and evangelizing a reference architecture
        • Exposure to construction management systems, software, and solutions and enterprise resource planning systems preferred
          Additional Information

          • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use a computer workstation, including monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Occasional travel to and work from office or construction jobsites may require adherence to safety protocols and use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
          • Tools Used: A wide variety of online services and software tools must be used to fulfill the job duties, including but not limited to Microsoft Windows, Office 365, Visio, Teams, Smartsheet.
