- $95,000.00 Salary/yearDescriptionJob Summary: The Senior
Specialist works independently under limited supervision and
guidance of experienced Project Manager providing support in all
aspects and phases of the project. Ensures adherence to contract
and quality requirements and engineering specifications.
Inspects/observes difficult or complex phases of construction or
project. Work may require independent utilization of prescribed
methods, standard techniques, and practices to perform assignments,
including peer reviews, field observations, testing and materials
investigation. Uses judgement and ingenuity in making minor
adaptations and modifications. Mentors other Specialists act as
Subject Matter Expert and resource in the technical arena for Lerch
Bates.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Proactively keep clients
and stakeholders informed of project status and changes; act as
liaison and technical resource for clientPerforms standardized or
prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related
operationsGathers and maintains specified records of technical data
such as test and drawings, performs computations, plots data, or
draws graphs and chartsAssists in conducting evaluation tests and
experiments designed to provide the desired result under controlled
conditionsProvide field support to the project teamConduct site
evaluations and /or Quality Assurance observations in support of
seasoned professionalsManage time effectively by working with the
Project Manager and using the department look ahead planner;
maintain and communicate scheduleProduces an initial draft of work
product including observation reportsExplore opportunities to
enhance service with or up sale existing clients/projectsAct as
Subject Matter Expert; train and mentor other Specialist across
Ensure personal utilization consistently averages at 95%Required
Education, Experience & Skills: Bachelor's degree in related
discipline: Engineering, Construction Management, Operations,
ArchitectureCertification in industry specific technical
areaConstructions trades course/s (e.g., reading and drafting
blueprints, building systems basics, typical construction
materials, and applications, fenestrations, roofing, carpentry,
etc.)5 years' experience in the building construction industry3
years of experience working in a customer service roleDemonstrated
proficiency in technical writingTechnically competent and able to
effectively communicate and build rapport with clients, co-workers,
and sub-contractorsMust have a practical understanding of building
systems, residential, and commercial construction
practices.Effective written/oral communication skillsMust
demonstrate a commitment to quality, organization, attention to
detail, and consistency in work productFlexible, responsive, and
confident multi-tasker able to work independently, handle multiple
deadlines and accommodate shifting prioritiesFollows standard
operating procedures/report template requirementsCan build rapport
with clients, co-workers, and sub-contractorsMust have the ability
to work well with and contribute to the team Proficiency in Word
and knowledge of ExcelPreferred Education, Experience & Skills: EIT
Certificate or equivalent for architecture, engineering, or other
construction activitiesSpecialized focus in 5 or more industry
areas of technical expertise, i.e., roofing, enclosure related
performance testing, knowledge of EIFS, metal panel and ACM, Hard
Coat Stucco and stone veneers, brick/masonry cavity wall facades
for exampleProficient in PDF markup software such as
