This is a remote position and has the capabilities to work from anywhere within the United States.Summary:The position reports to the Director of Technology and Strategy, InCommon and is a member of the broader Trust and Identity Services architecture and operations teams which define requirements of, and implements solutions for operational and security-related products and services of the InCommon Federation.The Security Lead also collaborates with and supports Internet2 technical architects, project managers, software development professionals and partners, IT architects, and other colleagues within Internet2's Technical Services Group while also representing the needs of community constituents in the design, development, implementation and delivery of InCommon services including the federation, the Identity and Access Management infrastructure, certificate services and other related service components.The Security Lead also has hands-on duties which include: day-to-day implementation, evaluation, maintenance, diagnostic, troubleshooting, and technical delivery of services which InCommon operates, and is the primary person responsible for ensuring the security of the services that InCommon offers.Responsibilities:Work collaboratively with service design and implementation staff to securely implement services in support of the InCommon Federation and eduroam.Oversee the day-to-day operation of the the InCommon Information Security Program in cooperation with Internet2 Trust and identity Services leadership.Manager a portfolio of systems and process security improvements, and work with the team to ensure they are properly and appropriately implemented. Play an active role in the management of activity backlogs, and the implementation of solutions in partnership with other colleagues and community members.Manage requirements for new and updated information security technical implementations and related business processes. Oversee managed services agency work streams in fulfillment of these requirements. Work with colleagues to deploy these new and updated capabilities.Act as the primary point of contact for InCommon's information security program, representing InCommon and Internet2 Trust and Identity services both internal to Internet2 and within community groups such as (but not limited to) the REN-ISAC, eduGAIN security working group, InCommon and eduroam advisory committees.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT systems security, information security program governance, IT systems engineering, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Certifications such as ISC2 CISSP are desired but not requiredQualificationsBachelor of Science in Computer Science or related degree, or equivalent work experience in information systems.5-10 years of professional experience in information technology technology field. Security and event management.Strong customer service skills, including the ability to effectively communicate and work with a diverse set of technical and non-technical colleagues and community members.Ability to work in a team-based environment, and continuously develop knowledge and skills related to the position.Ability to clearly define problems and use appropriate methods to determine and implement solutions.(Preferred) CISSP, ISC2(Preferred) SIEM and Splunk experience
