About the Role:

The Trimble Autonomous Solutions group is looking for a Systems Test Engineer to develop the next generation of autonomous vehicle technology. You will work on cutting-edge mobile computing technology that increases the productivity of construction sites and automates task execution . To ensure success as a Systems Test Engineer, you should have a good eye for detail, in-depth knowledge of engineering and product design, and the ability to think outside the square. Ultimately, a successful Test Engineer can create simple yet thorough test plans and procedures to ensure the peak performance of a product and report them in a detailed and timely manner.

Job Responsibilities:

* Create bug reports with detailed information and relevant supporting diagnostic---information to allow the effective triaging and resolution of software and system issues


* Carry out regression testing, integration testing, and exploratory testing of complex systems that are comprised of real-time controls, mobile operating systems and cloud applications


* Working closely with product owners and engineers to define product testing requirements and specifications.


* Create and update test and regression plans in the Jira database for new features or products or replacement---products


* Carry out integration testing in accordance with Trimble software development procedures


* Take ownership as testing lead on a wide variety of projects and reporting to both internal testing, marketing, and engineering teams throughout the development cycle from inception to release


* Advocate on usability or operational design on behalf of the customer to provide feedback to engineering and marketing on the usability of our products


* Identify and support field test sites and solicit relevant feedback and issues from field testers



Job Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field of study, or equivalent experience


* Strong knowledge of precision agriculture or construction and experience with installation and troubleshooting these products


* Extensive knowledge of engineering and testing procedures


* Excellent problem-solving skills


* Ability to troubleshoot and think out of the square


* High-level technical writing skills


* Ability to work remotely with teams located across the globe


* Experience working in complex systems such as those found in automotive, aerospace, and industrial



Preferred Experience:

* Understanding of software testing


* Experience testing functional safety systems as found in automotive and aerospace


* Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, and Bamboo would be an advantage Experience testing and or troubleshooting robotics or automotive systems
