The department Janus Henderson operates an outsourced model in partnership with our Third-Party Administrators (TPA). The primary focus of the Operations team is the oversight and management of the TPAs as well as supporting internal clients (for example the Distribution and Investment teams). Operations also support numerous projects and operational changes to maintain best practice operational processes. Overview of the role You will process retail mutual fund shareholder transactions, including bank and mail related functions, using established policies and procedures while meeting set deadlines and quality standards. Additionally, you will research and resolve more complex issues with shareholder accounts in an effort to ensure shareholder satisfaction. Duties and responsibilities You will: Interpret and process shareholder transaction requests received via mail, fax and/or phone such as address changes, bank changes, and purchase requests. Interpret and process basic retirement plan (i.e. IRA, SEP, SARSEP, 403(b) accounts) requests in accordance with applicable rules and regulations such as new account opening, contributions, distributions and exchanges. Follow established processing guidelines, regulatory procedures and legal requirements. Research and resolve transaction exceptions and prepares correction requests for the Adjustment Department as required. Research complex issues and contacts shareholders to resolve via phone or mail correspondence. Document and raise shareholder complaints to management. Handle bank and mail related assignments and responsibilities as needed. Assist internal customers respond to shareholders by answering Transaction Helpdesk calls. Assume additional duties as assigned Carry out additional duties as assigned Technical skills and qualifications Working knowledge of financial services industry including Janus Henderson products and services as well Qualified Retirement Plans, including associated regulations Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Strong verbal and written communication skills along with strong attention to detail with the ability to check and edit work Ability to adapt to new and changing processes, volume fluctuations and tight meet processing deadlines and quality standards Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented atmosphere Ability to utilize personal computer and software applications Ability to type 30 words per minute and 10-key proficiently Competencies required In addition to putting clients first, acting like an owner, and succeeding as a team, the competencies for this role include: High School diploma required Post-secondary education preferred. Two years of transaction processing, customer service or equivalent experience. Experience in financial services/mutual fund industry preferred Typical office environment with equipment such as fax machine, copier and PC. PC and Telephone usage up to 100% of the time Fast paced environment with tight deadlines and high quality standards. Overtime may be required on short notice and may include evening, week-end or holiday hours. Ongoing competence in the role to be assessed, in line with applicable regulatory requirements, by: Annual performance appraisal Completion of all assigned compliance training Compliance requirements At a minimum the role will require you to: Place the interest of Janus Henderson's Clients first, act in accordance with TCF (Treating Customers Fairly) principles Understand and follow laws and regulations applicable for your role, seeking the help of your supervising manager or Compliance if additional guidance is required Understand and abide by all Janus Henderson policies applicable to your role, and seek support/guidance of the policy owner guidance when required You are ultimately accountable for your actions and responsible for seeking further information on any or all of the above as necessary Compensation Information The base salary range for this position is $45,000 to $50,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different. #LI-SS1 Annual Bonus Opportunity: Position is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus award from the profit pool. The profit pool is funded based on Company profits. Individual bonuses are determined based on Company, department, team and individual performance.
