Front counter staff will provide high quality customer service support to the Office of Admissions. Student staff will serve as receptionist assisting prospective and/or current students on a walk-in basis. Employees are responsible for accepting forms and verifying them for accuracy as well as noting them in our database. Strong communication skills are necessary as complex admissions and residency information must be effectively communicated with students. Duties often require research/follow-up with various parties to validate information and successfully see prospective students through the enrollment process. In addition for front desk duties, staff will be sorting incoming mail and faxes, assisting in open house, calling campaigns, assemble acceptance packets, data entry processes, and other duties as assigned. #LI-DNI


  • 75% Provide high quality customer service at the front counter, by email and/or over the phone
  • 15% Sorting mail, calling campaigns, letters, staff support
  • 5% Assist during special events - i.e. open house, campus visits, luncheons, admitted student day, etc.
  • 5% Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Be able to learn and communicate complex admissions and residency information
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to provide a positive, lasting impression of the MSU Denver community.

  • Must be a current student enrolled in at least 6 credits

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Spanish

  • Admissions and/or Residency requirements

Must be available to work15-25 hours during the semester between 8AM and 5PM


MSU Denver offers temporary, non-benefit eligible employees sick leave. The sick leave is accrued at a rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed a maximum of 48 hours in a calendar year.
