Job Description:



This position is ESSER funded and will be considered a 1 year contract unless funds are approved the following year.

Starting Date:

July 28, 2021

New Teacher/Licensed Staff Orientation:

New teaching/new licensed staff orientation will be held on July 23, 26 and 27, 2021


District 49 credits each year of verified full-time/full-year K-12 teaching experience up to 15 years.

Work Schedule:

182 contracted work days

The minimum starting pay is $37,116/year and the maximum salary is $61,404/year. Initial pay placement is dependent on level of formal education and years of relevant experience (the maximum credit granted is 15 years).

Interviews are site-based and not conducted by the Human Resources office.

This teaching position is required to work in the school's writing/English lab

Qualifications and Expectations:

  • BA/BS from accredited college or university
  • Valid Colorado teaching license endorsed in area of assignment: Secondary English Language Arts OR
  • a valid CO licensed endorsed in another area AND passing exam scores on the CO PLACE - English or PRAXIS II - exam #5038 (or #0041/5041) only OR
  • a valid CO license endorsed in another area and 24 or more semester hours in English - HR to review transcripts and make determination OR
  • a valid CO license endorsed in another area and a BA/BS or higher major in English - HR to review transcripts and make determination
