DescriptionAs a member of the company's Corporate Operations Information Technology team, the Systems Administrator will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, deploying and maintaining technologies that add value to our internal stakeholders and improve organizational capabilities. In addition to effective technology and process management, the job requires strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities. Candidate must have the ability to operate independently and work well in a team environment to collaborate on projects and troubleshooting outages. This role will lead projects to upgrade or expand systems environment while also providing escalation/assistance for other engineers for ongoing support and maintenance activities.Duties* Work as a member of IT team to provide day to day support on all systems related request fulfillment, incident response, documentation, and follow-up* Provide 8 x 5 support of the IT systems infrastructure environment (Servers, Storage, Virtual, etc.)* Assist deployment of new technologies or upgrade existing capabilities as assigned* Assist continuous monitoring and response to alarms for all systems equipment using a variety of tools for incident handling and remediation* Make changes in approved and scheduled maintenance windows (i.e. software upgrades, hardware replacement, migrations, etc.) * Maintain equipment inventory database (quantity, sparing, part numbers, serial numbers, etc.) on high value and critical components* Occasional travel (10%) for onsite support, datacenter build-out/expansions, or for training as needed* Assist administration of a VMware virtual infrastructure which consists of two critical production environments and multiple regional clusters* Assist to deploy, manage, and tune distributed systems and SAN environments and plan for future expansion* Assist tuning Active Directory environment; manage access to systems and equipment, design group policies, monitoring general replication health, DNS and DHCP* Assist to manage, and tune configuration of O365/Azure environment* Assist to manage business continuity plans and to safeguard the recovery of critical business processes should a disruption to the services occur* Assist to manage vendor relationships to identify sustainable strategic partnerships, manage costs, and verify contractual service-level agreements are delivered* Create and update technical documentation to maintain an accurate system of record, and provide departmental training materials for new systems and processes* Participate in departmental budgeting and goal setting process to lay out long-term and short-term project priorities, identify new technologies to improve upon operational capabilities, and leveraging vendor relationships to secure competitive costsRequirementsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:* Must be able to work during normal business hours, and assist with changes as necessary during maintenance windows scheduled for nights and weekends* Must be available during scheduled on-call hours to provide IT emergency support during non-business hours * Ability to run concurrent projects while maintaining day to day operations* Strong interpersonal and cross-departmental communication* Comfortable working independently and being able to make decisions that add value to the business without direction from above* Ability to work in a high achievement environment with a strong work ethic* Some understanding of Microsoft technologies (O365, SCCM 2012, IIS, AD, Azure AD)* Some understanding of server administration (Linux, Windows 2003/2008/2012/2016)* Some understanding of Virtualization technologies (VMware vCenter, ESXi 6.0 and 6.7)* Some understanding of Storage technologies a plus (IBM SAN's)* Some understanding of Server hardware technologies a plus (HP Proliant)* Attention to detail and organizational skills* Some understanding of Hyper-converged Infrastructure a plus (Nutanix)* Some understanding of Storage and backup technologies a plus (Veeam B&R) * Some understanding of Security best practices, virus mitigation a plus. (Trend Micro OfficeScan, Checkpoint Endpoint Encryption, Carbon Black)* Some understanding of LAN/WAN technologies, OSI Model, and SAML (Okta).* Problem solving and troubleshooting skills* Written and verbal communications skills* Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis in Excel and Visio* A knack for grace under pressure and a sense of urgency that puts the customer firstEducation And Experience* College associate's degree or trade schools preferred or equivalent work/life experience* Minimum 2+ years IT experience with preferred systems background* Entry certifications preferred (MS, VM, Veeam, Nutanix, SANS, ISC2, etc.) Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
