What you'll do

The candidate will join the corporate Legal team and will be responsible for supporting new and ongoing product initiatives and product launches as well as leading M&A integration efforts. The Associate General Counsel also will work closely various corporate teams to enable the business to scale and grow.

  • Partner with product and technology stakeholders to understand the strategic needs and goals of the business
  • Counsel and guide product management, engineering, delivery and marketing teams on a variety of issues, including intellectual property, commercial terms, privacy, data protection and regulatory compliance matters relating to new and existing service offerings and products and features throughout the entire product development lifecycle
  • Analyze products, business plans and policies to provide risk mitigation strategies for products across multiple lines-of-business
  • Review and negotiate agreements affecting Coalfire's products and services, including with service providers and technology partners
  • Support Sales and Marketing channel programs
  • Work with business and compliance partners to develop and improve policies and procedures and implement technical solutions as the company evolves and grows
  • Lead legal integration of acquisition targets including corporate governance, intellectual property, sales agreements and HR
  • Have a practical, business-oriented approach to problem-solving and be able to effectively counsel internal clients by providing them with clear, concise advice, and creative solutions where necessary, on established timelines to meet their business needs
  • Make decisions, be resourceful, and work independently with minimal supervision as part of a busy legal department in a complex, fast-paced organization
  • Produce high quality work, including drafting contracts and other legal documents and ensuring consistency with consistency with prior documents of a similar nature
  • Maintain deadlines on deliverables and communicate on an ongoing basis with business partners and internal clients
  • Juggle and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
  • Professionally and effectively communicate with all levels of staff within Coalfire and with external partner groups
  • Develop best practices for addressing emerging legal and business risks
  • Engage relevant stakeholders in negotiation decisions involving legal or regulatory requirements, contract standards and cost targets

What you'll bring

  • 12+ years of experience as an in-house attorney managing a large volume of commercial contracts
  • A conscientious work style including a diligent approach to completing the tasks at hand and a sense of accountability and pride in assignments
  • A high level of interest in transactional law and the cybersecurity industry
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a proven track record of forging relationships among stakeholders
  • First-rate organizational and analytical skills and well-developed judgment
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Strong drafting skills, with the ability to achieve consistent language across agreements that are similar in nature
  • A willing spirit and humor in undertaking tasks required to accomplish the work of the Legal Department
  • A proactive, attentive attitude toward both daily tasks and long-term initiatives
  • A conscientious work style including a diligent approach to completing the tasks at hand and a sense of accountability and pride in assignments

At Coalfire, equal opportunity and pay equity is integral to the way we do business. A reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role is $94,000 to $163,000 based on national salary averages. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certifications and other factors. You may also be eligible to participate in annual incentive, commission, and/or recognition programs.
