  • Please note: This position may be a 6 month contract to hire or full-time hire. What you'll do: As a Product Design Lead you will help define and communicate the design process and framework here at Pinnacol, and ensure that the Product Design team is following the process and continuously strive to improve the way the team works. As a Product Design Lead you'll work closely with engineering and product management to oversee the user experience of new features from conception through launch. You will test with users and elicit feedback to ensure that we are building applications that customers really need and design experiences that delight them. What you can expect:
    • Create the vision for the Product Design team in collaboration with other Product Designers
    • Translate the value of Product Design into business value and evangelize the needs of the user in designing products
    • Lead and facilitate design reviews with team members to encourage positive feedback while maintaining agreed upon design standards
    • Contribute to product strategy and roadmaps through customer research and design explorations
    • Communicate design rationale to non-designers simply and directly.
    • Design for responsive-web with a mobile-first approach
    • Partner with product and engineering teams to oversee the user experience of new features and products from conception through launch
    • Lead user testing efforts to assess the value, usability, and feasibility of product ideas
    • Iterate quickly and thoughtfully based on feedback from users, teammates, and stakeholders
    • Timely design, production, and delivery/completion of user experience mockups and other design artifacts.
    • Create wireframes, prototypes and visual designs that are both usable and delightful that enable users to efficiently accomplish their jobs-to-be-done
    • Contribute to achieving key product milestones by creating the designs that drive customer growth, NPS score, conversions, and much more
    • Establish metrics and analytics to track and measure the impact of design Additional Duties:
      • Contribute to the use and maintenance of our style guide, customer journeys and personas
      • Ensure usage of consistent branding, language, and design across products.
      • Stay current on knowledge and skills necessary for in the area of product design best practices and, platform capabilities
      • Conduct interviews with candidates to make sure they have the product design skills to complete the job
      • Mentor other designers and apprentice(s)
      • Perform other duties as assigned What you'll bring to the table:
        • Strong knowledge and ability to work across all phases of the digital product design process; including user research, ux writing, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing
        • A strong portfolio of digital product design including designs that are being used in the real world.
        • Ability to analyze data from user research and synthesize those insights to inform product decisions
        • Ability to adapt your designs across a variety of platforms and form factors
        • Experience with interface design tools such as Figma
        • Developing Others: Ability to mentor others through constructively challenging assumptions and sharing knowledge with other designers to cultivate collaboration and user-focused designs
        • Adaptation: Ability to adapt in order to work effectively in ambiguous or changing situations, and with diverse individuals and groups, and lead others through ambiguous or changing situations.
        • Persuasion: Ability to convince others of a direction, activity, or idea and influencing decision-making and grow the value of product design within the organization.
        • Communication: Ability to listen to others and convey ideas effectively around design concepts across all levels within the organization
        • Innovation: Ability to generate novel solutions and creative ideas to create products that are intuitive and solve the customers jobs to be done

When meeting the requirements, the minimum of what you can expect for this position is 115,600. The actual offer will vary depending on the candidate's skills and competencies.
