Job Description:

The Instructional Systems Designer is responsible for maintaining and ensuring effective management of the LMS (LogistiCare University), including but not limited to: testing and posting new content, troubleshooting administrative and user technical issues, ensuring accurate user enrollment, assignments and assessment scoring, documenting processes, and developing reports and queries for a variety of internal and external constituents. Additionally monitoring and reporting on annual training compliance and other such initiatives providing periodic updates to each operation to ensure completion are required. In conjunction with LMS management, the Instructional Systems Designer develops and constructs eLearning content and their associated training guides/job aids. This includes, but is not limited to conducting needs analysis, research, observations; working directly with SMEs and training managers to understand and develop training to meet business needs, producing materials for implementations, field training initiatives, writing job aides, updating manuals and online resources. Analyzing and applying trends in learning technologies and instructional design, while developing learning objectives and structuring learning activities will be important to the role. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS *Conduct needs analysis, research, observations; works directly with SMEs and training managers to understand and develop training to meet business needs *Spends time in the field (ITT) working with training managers, training specialists, quality and operations management to identify training needs *Partners with field training to build and update wireframes based on content changes, policies and procedures, feedback, etc. *Writes training outlines, wireframes, voice overs builds training modules out, publishes to LMS and markets offerings to clients *Collects and analyzes level one survey data *Designs and develops interactive, state of the art training templates, modules, video, job aids and acknowledgements *Serves as controller and scribe during facilitated webinars and live corporate training sessions, records webinars, save webinars to compatible files, place compatible files in authoring tools and publish to LMS *Leads the management of the LMS (enrollments, trouble shooting issues, adding, editing and archiving courses and curriculums, maintaining LMS inventories (course catalog) and LMS reporting *Leads the maintenance of Training Tab on Employee Portal *Assists with Alfresco Training Drive/ Resource Page *Monitors and responds to inquiries in the Training Department's email account *Follow appropriate training models such as ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate, Feedback, Summaries and Action Plans) *Trains field personnel on use of TalentQuest's platforms; Talent Management System and LGTC University *Monitor, track, report on and analyze level one survey data obtained from training programs *Offer recommendations on new and innovative learning opportunities for a variety of staff of all levels *Responsible for quarterly department newsletter; Editor in Chief *Analyze the characteristics of existing and emerging technologies and their use in an instructional environment to continue to improve course design and learner experience as well as one's own professional development POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Competency Statement(s) *Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word *Communication, Written - Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely *Customer Oriented - Ability to take care of the customers' needs while following company procedures *Interpersonal - Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals *Motivation - Ability to inspire oneself and others to reach a goal and/or perform to the best of their ability *Team Building - Ability to convince a group of people to work toward a goal *Innovative - Ability to think outside the box and be creative *Integrity - must be forthcoming and honest in all interactions *Passion - must be enthusiastic about LogistiCare, exhibiting enthusiasm for mission and values, team and members *Working with Subject Matter Experts to determine training needs Education *Some college preferred, experience working within a training department and with reporting and analysis preferred *Bachelor's (Preferred) Experience *Excellent verbal and written communication skills *Must be able to work with and among various groups within the company to meet departmental goals *Must have demonstrated strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and its components *Be highly familiar with using electronic mail as a primary form of business communication *Preferred knowledge of LMS reporting functionality *Must be comfortable working as part of a team or independently to meet goals *Demonstrated good judgment and decision-making ability *Demonstrated interpersonal skills evidenced through established personal and professional relationships among diverse internal and external customers *Establish and maintain collaborative partnership alliances across broad range of professionals *Maintain a high energy level and be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities *Experience with web based authoring tools such as Articulate and audio editing tools such as Audacity *Instructional Design: 2 years *Learning Management: 2 years *Web based content tools course management Tool: 2 years SKILLS & ABILITIES *Demonstrated initiative; and ability to follow instructions and complete assignments in a timely manner *Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team *Ability to effectively deal with ambiguity and frequent changes *Excellent customer service and phone skills *Ability to report, analyze data and draw conclusions regarding results *Attention to detail *Ability to accurately type 35+ corrected words per minute *Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and PowerPoint *Read and write English fluently SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position will involve as much as 20% travel to other locations to assist with training initiatives. Some travel may include being in a field location for several weeks at a time.
