The Chief Architect (CA) contributes to a team of systems
engineers in accomplishment of system and segment engineering tasks
in an iterative development environment. The CA provides technical
direction and clarification of requirements and design to the
entire program team, including systems engineers, software
development teams and integration and test personnel.
The CA will display extensive and substantial practical
knowledge and experience of the architecture and will provide
guidance to others including junior engineers encountering unusual
situations. Identifies the project, enterprise and technology needs
affecting the definition of the appropriate lifecycle model, and
uses these in decision making. The CA uses enterprise-level
policies, procedures, guidance and best practice to select
lifecycles governing the project. The CA will drive issues to
closure in an Agile development environment, working closely with
the Chief Engineer (CE) and Product Manager.
The Chief Architect chairs the Architecture Review Board and
owns the architecture for the program. The CA leads technical
interchange meetings with program management and the customer,
along with the CE, and represents the organization in matters
pertaining to the development of the project. The CA provides
status on assigned Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) tasks. The CA
will lead document reviews, resolves technical systems engineering,
and integration issues. The candidate will support ECP efforts as
required. Must have the ability to manage time and resources in
order to meet assigned deadlines.
