Senior Embedded Software Engineer

We are looking for a senior embedded software engineer to lead the design and implementation of system software for variety of embedded systems. You, as the senior embedded software engineer are responsible for the design, documentation, development, testing and debugging of software. You will also lead a small team of engineers, on a technical level. Additional responsibilities include reviewing system and sub-system requirements to create subs system specifications and scope of work in an agile environment. The senior embedded software engineer (lead) plays an important part in our company's product development process. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for leading software development and delivery before product launches to ensure product meets customer and business needs. You will be responsible for leading all stages of software development to identify and assist in resolving system and sub-system issues to meet delivery objectives and quality standards. Senior Embedded Software Engineer (Lead) Responsibilities: * Leading a team of embedded software engineers * Reviewing requirements, technical design and quality specifications documents to scope work * Creating detailed, comprehensive and well-structured design document * Estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating software development activities * Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely scope of work * Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured design documentation * Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate development activities * Design, develop, test and debug system software * Provide technical leadership * Mentor junior team members * Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. UX, test, system engineer) to identify system and requirements * Track quality metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts to manage overall software quality * Stay up-to-date with new development tools and technologies * Experience leading a team of embedded software engineers * Proven track record in embedded software development * Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, tools and processes * Expert knowledge of software and embedded systems architecture * Expert knowledge of C/C programming language * Hands-on experience with hardware board bring up and low level software/driver development * Expert, hands-on experience with embedded Linux development * Hands-on experience with bare metal system development * Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process * Experience with software performance and/or security implementation and validation is a plus * BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a relevant technical discipline subject (or equivalent experience) Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
