Job Duties and Responsibilities

We are looking for a software engineering manager to lead a team in implementing back-end software solutions to serve both internal and external customers. The position entails managing an agile development team within our Core Customer Technologies organization to develop key platforms using Java, Docker, SpringBoot, AWS NoSQL databases. You will interface with other teams within the organization to develop complete systems to better our customers' experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team in design, implementation and test back-end data solutions to support
  • Work closely with product owner to establish features and roadmap
  • Interface with other teams as needed to resolve dependencies
  • Participate in the design and architecture of software solutions
  • Lead the team in continuous improvement and Agile process
  • Collaborate with product analysts/developers/QA during product development through implementation
  • Facilitate iteration planning sessions, daily team stand-ups, grooming sessions, and retros
  • Track and report on team work completed, capacity, backlog, velocity, etc.
  • Forecast product/feature delivery timelines
  • Use metrics and feedback to improve team and organization processes, best practices, performance, and delivery
  • Assist with deployments and production support issues
  • Planning delivery roadmaps, minimum viable product (MVP) and milestones Skills, Experience and Requirements
    • Bachelors or Masters degree, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other technical (STEM) field or an equivalent of experience.
    • 4+ years of software development/product management or related technical experience
    • 5+ years of experience in a management capacity
    • Experience working on/with an Agile team (XP, SCRUM etc.)
    • Experience working with multiple business stakeholders and planning product delivery
    • Excellent organizational, facilitation, and written/verbal communication skills
    • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional resources and work well in a distributed environment
    • Demonstrated understanding of and experience using Agile processes and methodologies
    • Ability to plan for future work while maintaining the current delivery with rapidly changing priorities
    • Technical experience in AWS, REST APIs, Java, SpringBoot, Docker a plus
    • Technical experience in Relational or NoSQL Database Systems (e.g. Oracle, MySql, MongoDB) is a plus
    • Strong understanding of development and delivering cloud native products as a service, virtualized deployments, containerization, DEV/OPS and CI/CD pipelines

      Salary Range

      Compensation: $140,250.00/Year - $189,750.00/Year

      The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
