Job Summary
Comcast's Global Technology Organization is looking for a senior level Java developer to lead a diverse team of engineers working on one of our mission critical applications. The National Watchtower team develops in-house custom software applications to monitor our customer network of 28million docsis and docsis equivalent devices across over 225,000 network nodes. Our software monitors the network, proactively detecting problem areas and engages our fleet of network technicians nationwide to remediate those problems efficiently. Our team is looking for a senior engineer to assist in leading our applications and platform teams in their adoption of modern technologies, frameworks, and design patterns as we ensure our platforms are ready for the next generation of network technology and workforce management.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities



  • As a senior member of the development team, you will be responsible for creating and documenting application-level architecture and designs to meet the requests of our users and internal platform standards as well as reviewing designs by other team members.


  • Additionally, you will be responsible for helping to ensure the quality of development from the teams are meeting the expectations for quality, consistency, and forward-looking software development best practices.


  • In order to do this you will use your experience with java frameworks, familiarity with design patterns and best practices in microservices development. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing software development team and have a significant impact!


    Minimum Requirements:


    • 8+ years of java development in a web services environment using SpringBoot.


    • Hands on experience deploying & managing web services in PaaS environments such as AWS/Pivotal/GoogleCloud.


    • Experience developing Java with more than one of the following backends: Time Series/Relational/Document/KeyValue


    • 2+ years of experience developing java applications using Kafka.


      Preferred requirements:
      Experience with the following technologies/methodologies is preferred:-


      • Development and orchestration of Deployment pipelines and build tools


      • Prior experience leveraging the following tools: Artifactory, GitHub, Sonar, Ansible,


      • Familiarity with UI development in Angular


      • Working knowledge using kubernetes for orchestration


      • Production support in a web services/devops environment for multiple applications


      • Experience using tools to evaluate and improve code quality and test coverage

            Salary:
            Pay Range: $124,648.68 - $186,973.01
            Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
