Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior FPGA developer with experience developing technical solutions to complex problems. The FPGA development engineer is expected to analyze what is needed, write low level requirements, develop and simulate code, and integrate their FPGA design into a larger system. This role is a mix of coding and hands on integration and troubleshooting involving both real time stations and missile hardware. The developer will work with software and hardware engineers to ensure the larger system operates as designed. Opportunities exist for FPGA developers to get exposure and training for writing their own FPGA software drivers under supervision from a software team. Developers are encouraged to learn about radar systems and to grow into a multi-disciplined real time systems developer.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • As a developer you will participate in systems architecture activities to ensure system level solutions compatible with embedded hardware capabilities
  • Developing with System Verilog, Verilog or VHDL languages, Xilinx, Altera, Lattice or Microsemi devices and tool sets
  • Working with timing closure and clock domain crossing techniques for devices with multiple clock domains
  • Working on a fast-paced team that supports multiple products
  • Working with Azure Devops to develop burn down plans using Agile planning methods The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

    Qualifications You Must have:
    • Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of (5) five or more years of prior relevant experience developing firmware.
    • Requires previous work experience using hardware description language (VHDL) simulation tools such as: Mentor ModelSim/Questa or NCSim
    • Requires previous work experience in Xilinx, Altera, Lattice or Microsemi programmable devices Note: Due to the nature of our business, remote work is not possible.

      Qualifications We Value:
      • Familiarity with Linux and a scripting language such as tcl, python, bash, or equivalent is desired, as well as experience maintaining source code using git or equivalent source control tool
      • Experience with one or more of the following:
      • Xilinx 7 series, Ultra, or Ultrascale+ devices
      • Source control tool such as git or similar
      • Use of Gigabit interface cores such as PCIe, SATA or Aurora
      • JESD-204a/b/c for DACs or ADCs
      • DDR and flash memories
      • IBERT tools
      • Digital signal processing
      • Graphics Processing Units (GPUs)
      • Mixed VHDL and Verilog designs
      • AXI, SPI, UART, I2C, SDLC
      • Ethernet
      • Electrical standards such as LVDS, CML, RS-422, RS-485
      • Real time systems
      • Board designs with FPGA devices
      • SoC software development using C, C or C#
