Position SummaryThis is a REMOTE PositionThis position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, reviewing, verifying, consolidating, and entering accounting transactions. This position is fully remote. It requires the execution of a high degree of independent and professional judgment and discretion for a growing company in the restaurant industry.Position Accountabilities Include

• Facilitate and complete period end close procedures
• Assist with financial statement and tax audits and related deliverables
• Assist in documentation of processes and monitoring of internal controls
• Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Prepare/Review period end general ledger reconciliation and "roll forwards" on assigned accounts
• Prepare/Review a variety of prepaid and accrual journal entries and related supporting schedules
• Prepare/Review assigned schedules to assist in the financial reporting process.
• Review Fixed Asset Reconciliation and related schedules
• Coach and supervise Staff Accountant
• Analyze assigned accounts to ensure revenue and expenses are recorded appropriately on an accounting period basis and in accordance with US GAAP
• Collaborate across operational departments to document policy and procedure updates as well as accounting considerations
• Research and document company's position on technical accounting areas, including adoption of new US GAAP accounting standards
• Manage lease accounting processes for lessees and sublessors under ASC 842 and ASC 606
• Lead accounting research on emerging accounting trends and topics as well as new transactions.
• Participate actively as a resource appointed to ad-hoc analysis and performs other duties as requested with or without accommodationEMPLOYMENT STANDARDSKnowledge

    • BS Accounting degree required
    • CPA requiredExperience
      • At least 2-5 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or equivalent
      • SAP ERP experience strongly preferred. Essential Physical Requirements

        • Ability to frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel.
        • Ability to Travel may be required to attend off-site training, meetings and seminars.
        • Ability to sit for prolonged periods in one location which may be restricted to the employee's workstation.
