What you do daily:

  • Analyze business needs, service roadmaps and service lifecycles to develop operational and product strategies, architectures and designs that meet the needs of each stakeholder
  • Design, develop, deploy, and ensure the reliability for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid networks
  • Conduct research on network products and services in support of network infrastructure initiatives. Maintain industry awareness of available solutions and implementations.
  • Create simple, repetitive deployment processes that increase both velocity and quality enabling us to scale
  • Automate network maintenance, testing, and instrumentation to reduce risks and enable data driven decisions
  • Collaboration with internal customers and business leaders on designs/solutions; driving solutions from concept to release
  • Recommend changes to system or service architectures or develop changes to operational processes or procedures
  • Act as technical expert by tracking technology trends, recommending technology paths and providing operational requirements to the engineering and development groups.
  • Mentor and direct others in their technology evaluations, technical designs and technical implementations as they related to operations
  • Assist in the planning and managing of the budget for network hardware and software procurement
  • Conduct testing and develop disaster recovery plans to detect faults, minimize malfunctions and backup systems
  • Develops and documents technical standards and interface applications
  • Provides ongoing information to management, customers, and peers regarding enhancements and innovations
    What makes you a good fit: (Qualifications)
    • 10-15 years of Information Technology experience as an Engineer or Architect in Network design and performance
    • Experienced with developing roadmaps that adhere to enterprise architecture methodologies
    • Experience with routing protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, or MPLS
    • Experience with network concepts such as SDN, SD-WAN, hub and spoke, or leaf and spine topologies
    • Previous experience documenting architectures, designs and services. Extensive experience in abstracting software designs into functional and operational deployments
    • Work with large-scale systems management processes including configuration management and change control processes
    • Ability to effectively communicate system capabilities and limitations by preparing thorough articulate documentation, developing processes and procedures, and participating in or leading formal presentations
    • Able to develop large-scale functional system architectures, implementation designs and operational processes in collaboration with product owners, system stakeholders and development engineers
    • Willing to act as technical expert to track technology trends and to provide sound basis and reasoning for recommending technology paths. Demonstrated ability to mentor or direct others in their technology evaluations
    • Prepare a systems design from loose user provided specifications
    • Quickly perform root cause analysis in non-functioning systems
    • Excellent project management skills
    • Ability to mentor other staff members
    • Ability to utilize available resources to research problem characteristics for possible resolutions
    • Very strong written and oral communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Proactive, self-starter, and able to work independently
    • Experienced in leading teams to complete network projects
    • Excellent customer service orientation
    • Self-motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
