Job Description:

The Email Developer contributes to the success of Sur La table by developing, testing, and deploying email campaigns. This position will partner with our Creative Services team as well as our outside email vendor platform in order to ensure email campaign effectiveness and efficiency. The Email Developer proactively offers independent data-based insights and recommendations in addition to providing insights in response to requested business needs. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.--This position reports to the Email Marketing Manager.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Code, develop and deploy executed email creative within Sur La Table's Email Service Provider.* Run A/B tests for email, time of day, and subject lines. * Innovate on new methods of segmentation, communication and advanced email techniques to better reach Sur La Table's audience. * Build ad hoc promotional emails and email automations based on customer segmentation.* Perform quality assurance, test links, and troubleshoot code rendering across multiple desktop and mobile devices. * Partner with email vendor on platform improvements, updates and concerns. * Drive improvement in email processes to operate more effectively through collaboration with cross-divisional teams. * Communicate closely with the creative, merchandising, and ecommerce teams.* Run QA checks, test links, review proofs to ensure strong execution and quality.* Provide front-end development support as appropriate to improve ecommerce site performance and functionality. **Must be willing and able to work with teams operating in pacific standard timeEXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required. * 2-5 years of relevant HTML/Email development work experience.* Experience within email platforms, Emarsys, Listrak or Salesforce a plus* Intermediate to advanced knowledge of HTML and CSS* Familiarity with JavaScript and SQL (preferred)* Design knowledge with an ability to use Adobe Suite and Sketch.* Experience coding and testing mobile responsive designs. * Retail experience a plus. * Ability to handle a dynamic, fast-paced and changing environment.* Experience working with non-technical teams and translating technical requirements to business and design partners. * Interest in email space and desire to become a subject-matter expert in email best practices.
