Job Description:

Position Summary: This position assists in the employee life cycle from recruiting to separation with an emphasis on applicant tracking, hiring, regulatory compliance and employee relations.
Essential Functions:

  • Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Manages employee recognition program
  • Assists HR Director with conducting wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Responds to notifications from state agency regarding unemployment claims filed by former employees.
  • Coordinates housing needs with managers and employees, including managing employee deductions, leases and security deposits
  • Manages E-verify as the corporate administrator and ensures satellite offices are up to date on regulations
  • Assists HR Director with company sponsored employee events, such as holiday parties, summer picnics, highway clean up and Fourth of July parade.
  • Submits articles periodically for the employee newsletter
  • Completes new hire paperwork with employees ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation in English and Spanish to foster a positive company culture.
  • Assists HR Director with training programs.
  • Translates employee communication from English to Spanish
  • Maintains personnel files in accordance with corporate, state and federal regulations
  • Conducts annual I-9 audit.-- Process employee separation notices and coordinates employee exit with payroll.
    • Provides support to the Human Resources Director and completes other duties as assigned.
      Qualifications:
      • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
      • CPHR preferred
      • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
      • Ability to work hours necessary to complete tasks on a daily and weekly basis, including the ability to change schedule on demand. May need to be available throughout the week or after hours as necessary.
      • Work requires an extensive knowledge of business and an excellent command of English language.

      • Must have knowledge of office administrative procedures, and knowledge of use and operation of standard equipment, at a level generally acquired through 5+ years of related experience.
      • Must have knowledge and proficient use of a variety of computer software applications in MS Office suite as well as HRIS type program such as ADP.
      • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, diplomacy and a positive attitude.
      • Some analytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work.
      • Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
