well-rounded individuals to join our global team. We are seeking a
Senior Payroll Manager for our Denver office. As the Senior Payroll
Manager, you will have responsibility for the US payroll, which is
processed in-house for approximately 4,000 employees in a
manufacturing environment. This will include direct management of
the payroll processing and payroll tax preparation for 4 separate
FEINs and approximately 45 states. This position is also
responsible for supporting the payroll and timekeeping systems and
acting as liaison between IT and business. Key responsibilities (to
name a few):
- Responsible for all aspects of in-house Oracle payroll process
cycle in a manufacturing environment. This includes ensuring
timeliness and accuracy of all data processed and submitted for
payment. Responsible for staying abreast of all payroll laws and
tax regulations as well as continuous improvement of process and
detection and remediation of any process defects. Oversee timely
and accurate filing, payment and reconciliation of all federal,
state, local and unemployment payroll taxes as well as processing
of any journal entries required to balance accounts.
- Provide direct supervision to Denver payroll staff and indirect
support to plant payroll personnel. Ensure training and
documentation is in place for all payroll processes and responsible
for ensuring designated backups are identified and trained.
- Manage the Oracle payroll and in-house timekeeping system,
which includes patch testing, troubleshooting and implementing new
functionality. Provides support and training to all users.
- Participate in special projects as assigned by VP, Corporate
Controller. This includes acting as project lead on all payroll
related projects. Examples of upcoming projects may include acting
as payroll lead to design requirements and vendor selection for
implementation of a new timekeeping system.
- Ensure compliance with Mandate for Fundamental Financial
Controls and existing SOX matrixes, identifies and recommends
controls changes to the Director, AP & Payroll. Participates in and
supports testing and all internal and external audit
