The Mateo Group out of Boulder is bringing their special brand of exceptional cuisine, world class wine, and genuine hospitality to the ever-expanding counter service restaurant industry. Our first and flagship location in Gunbarrel will be closely followed by our 2nd location in 5-Points, Denver. We are hiring for the all Back Of House positions. Line Cooks, Prep Cooks, and Dishwashers. Our hours of operations are Monday-Sunday, 11am - 7pm. Scheduled shifts will be: Prep/Dish: 8am - 3pm & 3pm - 8pm - Full Time and Part Time Line Cook: 10:30am - 7:30pm (4 days a week) - Full Time and Part Time Our fast casual restaurant is an open kitchen concept, so you must be comfortable with having a presence with the guest. Our menu consists of primarily Salads and Sandwiches that are sustainably sourced, and made fresh to order! Another exciting part of joining our company at this time is the enormous growth potential. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Salary: $12.00 to $18.00 /hourResponsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients then cook and assemble dishes as indicated by recipes
  • Perform portion control and minimize waste to keep cost within forecasted range
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely manner by restocking ingredients at work station and meeting prep times to ensure smooth delivery
  • Set up and clean station according to restaurant protocol
  • Maintain a clean work station area, including kitchen equipment, tables, and shelves
  • Comply with applicable sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards
  • Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients and products
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the line supervisor, sous-chef, or executive chef Qualifications
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree preferred
    • 1-3 years of experience cooking in a restaurant, hotel, or resort
    • Understanding of cooking methods and procedures, and knife handling skills
    • Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
    • Ability to read and follow cooking directions
    • Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
    • Must be organized and self-motivated
    • Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, and lift, and carry heavy materials
