We are passionate about building a community where mental health matters and equitable care is accessible to all races, ethnicities, abilities, socioeconomic statuses, ages, sexual orientations, gender expressions, religions, cultures, and languages.Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Residential Programs and Services, in the Intensive Services Network, the Residential Counselor will provide direct care to the consumers in the program, communicate concerns of care with treatment team, support clients treatment goal progress, and will be responsible for the upkeep/maintenance of the facility. -

Job Specific Competencies/Duties:Facilitate treatment and provide structured living environment to residentsSupervise daily routine, events, activitiesAssist with Activities of Daily Living as indicated for each consumerInitiate and encourage family participation in the treatment planDevelop, in collaboration with client and case manager, a weekly schedule of activities, and monitor progress on treatment goalsMonitor passes, house restrictions and client follow through with treatment expectations and consequences of individual client behavior, and communicate decisions to peers and supervisorsCollaboration with the case manager/therapist for service deliveryMaintain residential charts and update as necessary, according to Center and Department of Health requirements.Monitor medications and track Medication Administration Records (MARs) to ensure accurate delivery/documentation.Order and maintain supplies as neededSubmit all documentation per Center requirements and timelinesParticipate in supervision and team meetingsMaintain effective interpersonal relationships with all consumers, teammates, supervisors and community membersRespond to consumer needs in timely mannerCross-training with other Center residential programs for coverage purposesOversee clients in skills in areas meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, personal care duties and provide feedback as indicated, in an effort to support development of independent living skillsProvide protective oversight to ensure safety of clients and facility at all timesSchedule/participate in safety/fire drills and document in log bookCommunicate all concerns in an appropriate/timely manner to supervisorDevelop and maintain relationships with neighbors in the residential communityUtilize de-escalation techniques when client is in crisis, and intervene appropriately when necessary, coordination with case managers, supervisors, Access/Emergency department and community emergency responders when client requires a higher level of care or hospitalizationConduct 1:1 meetings with residents, and coordinate UA/BA program for facilityAssist clients in meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, and personal care duties in an effort to support development of independent living skills.Maintain facility according to Department of Health guidelines for safety, documentation, protective oversight and fire safety expectations.Other Duties (Professional Growth/Development/Community/Relationships & Productivity Performance Measures):Attend mandatory in-services, compliance with individualized training plan as requiredAttend supervision at times and intervals agreed upon with supervisor.Participate in supervision by coming prepared with an agenda. - Report high risk/problem cases, and utilize a problem solving approach/utilize feedbackUse language and behavior to promote dignity/respect with consumers, Center staff and external customersContinually strive for self-improvement and remain motivated to learn new skills to benefit consumer and CenterSubmit 90% of all Progress-to-Date forms within 3 working days (team specific)Complete 95% of all paperwork by the due dateExhibit enthusiasm, courtesy, adaptability, flexibility, and spirit of cooperation in the work environment Maintain effective interpersonal relations with consumers, peers, subordinates, upper management, visitors and the general publicEffectively respond to client/consumer needs and problems, initiate and maintain positive interactions, timely response to phone calls, pages, email, etcDemonstrates cultural competency/awareness/skills in working with diverse caseload and utilizes Center resources/trainings as neededWork cooperatively with other community agencies, as appropriate, and in agreement with supervisor. - Knowledge of trauma informed care and practices or willingness to obtain training/education on this. -Note: - Employees are held accountable for all duties of this job. - This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications associated with the job. -

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:Bachelor's Degree (in a related field) required, with one to two years related experience and/or training.Bi-lingual preferred but not required.Obtain QMAP, First Aid, and CPR certifications within 30 days of hire.Motor Vehicle Insurance Coverage requires applicant must be 25 years or older. Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving record as determine by our insurance carrier. An MVR will be pulled along with a background check.

Salary & Benefits:
Grade 50- Bachelor's Degree$38,100 to $48,600**Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience*Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.**BONUS OPPORTUNITY!! $1,000 bonus paid out on one month anniversary. ** Based on full time (40 hours/week). Prorate if less than 40 hours/week.
