For more information visit: ****************************** The Pharmacy Section manages the pharmacy, durable medical equipment (DME) and physician-administered drug benefits and ensures that members receive medically necessary services and providers are correctly reimbursed for rendered services. Description of Job The primary responsibility of the position is to administer the Prescription Drug Consumer Information and Technical Assistance Program (Rx Review Program). The position may also participate in policy and program projects, as assigned by the Pharmacy Section Manager, involving the pharmacy, physician-administered drug and DME benefits. Position coordinates a medication therapy management program (Rx Review Program) in compliance with the applicable Medicaid rules, under the direct supervision and guidance of the Pharmacy Section Manager. Position proposes the most effective means for recruiting pharmacists for participation in the program. Position reviews applications and determines if a pharmacist qualifies for the program and is located in a geographical location where reviews are needed. Position analyzes drug utilization data developed by the data section to look for high utilizers and to identify health trends used for developing criteria for client participation. Position coordinates with the clients and contracted pharmacists to assure medication therapy counseling sessions are conducted. Position develops program metrics used for reporting purposes and tracks the progress of consultations. Position may contribute to policy projects and perform administrative duties associated with the delivery of pharmacy and durable medical equipment benefits. Position may research and propose benefit standards for pharmacy and durable medical equipment benefits. Position may research and respond to client and provider inquiries involving pharmacy and durable medical equipment benefits. Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights Must be a resident of Colorado to! Minimum Qualifications Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in health care administration, business administration, public administration or other closely related field; AND Experience: Two (2) years of professional experience specific to public health policy, the delivery of health care benefits and/or the administration of a health care related program. Substitutions A combination of work experience in public health policy, the delivery of health care benefits or the administration of health care programs, which provided the same kind, amount, and level of knowledge acquired in the required education, may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the bachelor's degree. A master's or doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in health administration, business administration or public administration, may be substituted for the bachelor's degree and one year of professional experience. DEFINITION OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Work that involves exercising discretion, analytical skill, judgment, and personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating,ing, and sharing an organized body of knowledge that characteristically is uniquely acquired through an intense education or training regimen at a recognized college or university; equivalent to the curriculum requirements for a bachelor's or higher degree with major study in or pertinent to the specialized field; and continuously studied to explore, extend, and use itional discoveries, interpretations, and application and to improve data, materials, equipment, applications and methods. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS The preferred candidate will possess: Experience with the administration of a health care program. Pharmacy benefit management experience. Project management experience.
