Overview This position will provide brief behavioral health interventions to patients served by MCPN. Responsibilities* Provide behavioral consult and direction adult patients who have psychiatric illnesses and/or other psychosocial issues interfering in their primary care treatment. Work as a team member on a mobile and in clinic team as needed.* Assess patients and family's psychosocial and behavioral health needs and provide solution focused treatment. This may include but is not limited to psycho education, teaching communications skills, clearing up misunderstandings between providers and patients, making referrals to other agency for more intensive treatment, assisting in resolving funding issues, working within the patient's culture to resolve barriers to treatment, motivational interviewing/ working to elicit change behavior, brief family interventions or limited family therapy, and communication with the school, department of human services or other agencies working with the patient or family.* Working with healthcare providers to refer patients with covered diagnoses or severe psychiatric illness to Jefferson Center when needed.* When needed, address substance use disorders with screening, assessment, brief interventions via Motivational Interviewing to stimulate change. Make referrals to Jefferson Center or outside substance use treatment facilities when necessary and working with provider and patients to minimize substance use of prescription medication.* Report any and all suspicions of child abuse and neglect to the Colorado Department of Human Services.* Documentation of all encounters in electronic medical record for MCPN and Jefferson Center. Maintains professional standards.* Maintains effective interpersonal relationships with consumers, peers, subordinates, upper management, visitors and the general public.* Effectively responds to client/consumer needs and problems, initiates and maintains positive interactions, timely response to phone calls, pages, email and other requests.* Works cooperatively with other community agencies, as appropriate, and in agreement with supervisor.* Volunteers to work on Center committees and/or task forces.* Participates in staff development activities to enhance professional growth.* Attends mandatory in-services, compliance with individualized training plan if required. CAC specific duties:* Attends the monthly CAC business meetings in order to stay abreast of regulations and policies governing substance use treatment.* Participate in CAC group supervision per OBH regulations. CAC II, 2 hours each month, CAC III or LAC one hour each month.* Provide CAC in training group supervision to staff obtaining their certification (CAC III or LAC only).* Completes required paperwork for substance use treatment licenses and billing to Medicaid and other funding sources, including Substance Abuse ROI, Substance Use Assessment, Infectious Disease Acknowledgment Statement, Out-of-State Offender Questionnaire, URICA, ASAM Level of Care and Placement Criteria and DACOD's for those who are not currently open to Jefferson Center and need a full intake.* Endorse the Center's belief that drug testing can be an effective therapeutic tool as it can serve as a deterrent to substance use, a safety measure for prescribing psychotropic medications and provide support to the client to increase the likelihood of successful abstinence. All CAC clinicians will include random or point-in-time urine drug testing (UDT) as a part of the co-occurring services offered here at the Center. SUD Intake clinicians will referral all SUD clients for Point-In-Time/Baseline UDT upon intake. Qualifications Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required* MSW/LCSW, LPC, Psy D, Licensed Psychologist* CACII, CACIII or LAC required* Bilingual helpful, but not required.* Knowledge of recovery-based concepts.* Personal History as Consumer of mental health services Personal Qualities:* Good communication skills. Amount of Travel and any other special conditions or requirements: Current Colorado Driver's license and DMV Background Clearance.
