I. Position Summary: The Registered Nurse demonstrates advancedknowledge, skills and understands the unique aspects of the population servedin the care of his/her patients. Each service also requiresspecialized skills. The delivery of care is based on the physical,psychosocial, cultural, safety and learning needs of the individualpatient. The Registered Nurse may rotate to areas other than his/herassigned service area/s, and will perform only those duties for which he/shehas demonstrated competency. The Registered Nurse performs delegatedduties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within thephilosophy and overall plan of care delivery at SMC. II. Position Requirements: A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Colorado Registered Nurse License orCompact RN license from another state, Current BLS and ACLS Certifications. B. Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. Graduate of a certified School of Nursing. C. Experience: Able to articulate anddemonstrate appropriate nursing theory and practice. Experience requirements are specific to positions and departments asappropriate. D. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Demonstrates good organizational skills. Providessafe and appropriate patient care within the Values & Standards of NursingPractice at SMC. Displays appropriate judgment and problem solvingskills. Communicates positively and professionally with all internaland external customers. III. Degree of Supervision Required: Under supervision of Director/Designee. IV. OrientationPeriod: Based on experience and continuous assessment ofprogress by Director. Orientation includes formal nursing departmentorientation, minimum of 2-4 days during first 2 weeks of employment.
