Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center (P/SL) provides state-of-the-art, complex medical care in the heart of Denver's Uptown neighborhood. P/SL holds centers of excellence designations in neonatal intensive care, spine and joint care and bariatric surgery as well as stroke certification and level IV trauma. Position Summary: This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St Luke's Medical Center of optimizing quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. The Medical Telemetry RN is responsible for the delivery of nursing care to the patient requiring telemetry and/or medical surgical care. The Medical Telemetry RN serves as primary nurse and/or care coordinator, leading the collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. The Medical Telemetry RN oversees and directs the care of assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for the care given to assigned patients. When the need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. ACLS required within the first 12 months of hire. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. EKG interpretation competency and/or course within the first 6 months of hire. BSN preferred. Experience: One year experience in acute care preferred. Special Qualifications: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members. Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong critical thinking skills.
