This locum Neurosurgery role focuses on providing weekend call coverage in a high-volume Level 1 trauma center. The position involves managing a wide range of adult and trauma-related neurosurgical cases, requiring strong procedural expertise and the ability to work independently in acute care settings. Providers will join an established team supporting complex neurosurgical and neurocritical care needs.

Dates/Schedule

• Start: ASAP
• Ongoing weekend coverage needed
• Schedule: Friday 7:00 AM Monday 7:00 AM (continuous call)

Job Details & Responsibilities

• Provide neurosurgical call coverage for adult patients (age 17+)
• Manage cases including trauma neurosurgery, tumor removal, intracranial hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, and neurocritical conditions
• Perform procedures such as spinal instrumentation, shunt placement/revision, ventriculostomy, burr holes, lumbar punctures, spinal fusion, laminectomy, and diskectomy
• Handle ICU-level care including ICP monitoring, external ventricular drain management, and hypothermia protocols
• Interpret EEGs and manage complex neurological data (ICP/CCP)
• Work in a Level 1 trauma center with over 100,000 annual ER visits, 12 ORs, and a team of 6 neurosurgeons
• Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Board Certified in Neurosurgery (REQUIRED; no Board Eligible candidates)
• Active Colorado license (HIGHLY PREFERRED; must be willing to obtain upon acceptance)
• Active ACLS, BLS, and ATLS certifications (REQUIRED)
• Ability to perform spinal instrumentation (REQUIRED; must be noted at submission)
• Fellowship training (HIGHLY PREFERRED)
• Clean malpractice/background (REQUIRED)
• COVID vaccination (REQUIRED)
