Job Description:
Swedish Medical Center, a premier member of the HealthONE
healthcare system, is seeking a dedicated PACU Registered Nurse PRN
to join our post-anesthesia care unit. This role is ideal for a
compassionate professional who excels in a fast-paced environment
and is committed to providing top-tier patient care. As a PACU
Nurse at our state-of-the-art facility, you will play a critical
role in the postoperative phase by monitoring patients, managing
pain and other post-anesthesia effects, and preparing them for the
recovery room or discharge. This position requires a keen ability
to make quick decisions, in-depth knowledge of recovery protocols,
and a patient-focused attitude to ensure the safety and comfort of
patients emerging from anesthesia. Monitor patient vital signs and
levels of consciousness during the post-anesthesia phase, adjusting
medications as needed. Assess and manage patients' pain and nausea
post-operation, administering appropriate interventions. Prepare
patients for transfer to the recovery unit or discharge, ensuring
stable condition. Communicate effectively with anesthesiologists
and surgeons regarding patient conditions and necessary
interventions. Maintain accurate patient records, documenting all
interventions and observations. Adhere to all hospital safety
protocols and hygiene standards to prevent infection and ensure the
health and safety of patients and staff. Strong clinical skills in
a PACU environment Excellent patient assessment and monitoring
skills Ability to quickly adjust interventions as patient needs
evolve Strong communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of
post-anesthesia care protocols and procedures Medical Insurance

Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
